Just curious, but i noticed that the massive "Labrynth of Laughter" thread seems to have disapeared, or perhaps i just missed it. Any idea as to where it went?

The thread appears to have been deleted by the OP. I'll send a message to him to inquire about the reason.

After contacting the original poster of the thread (Xtreme09), I was informed that he has no future plans for further translation of the original material, and as such, there won't be any more updates from him on the game Labyrinth of Laughter. He has, however, left the door open for others who wish to translate to continue his work.

For those who may want to do that, and for those who still wish to download the most recent English-translated version of the game, can find the links to both the original and the translated version in this thread.

Until that happens, I assume the project can be deemed discontinued, at least for now. =/

I can appreciate not wanting to do any more translations, but that thread also had a lot of solutions to troubleshooting problems with the game as well as a few strategies and some good Q & A as well in regards to other issues. It's a complete waste to delete the entire thread. Is there any chance for it's restoration?

Xtreme didn't seem interested in participating in the thread itself, though you do raise a good point. If you and/or others want the thread back up, you're welcome to PM him and ask if that's okay with him, as he's the original thread starter. If he's cool with it, then I'll see about bringing the thread back for you all as a sort of archive/discussion platform.

He said he didn't want to work on translating the game anymore due to the content and events that occur further on in the game, he simply didn't agree or condone with such content.

Now I'm so perversely curious. What is the later content?

Seconded. What weird stuff does the game go into? Xtreme, care to elaborate? Obviously, you do more than enough around here, so we're not judging, but I'm also fairly curious. If the game gets weird, at least I know there isn't something awesome just sitting out there, untranslated.

This whole thing is tragic and depresses me. -_- The lack of openness sucks, especially with so many fans for the game itself.

There is like, nobody else in the world that can do this, and for one person to have so much power and yet not even say why they would abandon the project hurts.

Nothing is owed to anyone, it just, it just still sucks. :< Japan already gets to enjoy something so awesome from the tickling community, and this whole project with LoL was like, an amazing, amazing thing for us to peek into a window we barely get to taste, ever.

Isn't there something we can do? Donations? Anything?

LoL will likely eventually get picked back up by someone, sooner or later. That thread is largely there as a beacon for whoever'd be willing to translate those games.

The worst part about losing the original LoL thread was the disappearance of troubleshooting info for those misnamed sound files.

Ahem - my apologies in giving this thread a bump up since it's been awhile since the last post. I'm only doing this to inform everyone who liked LoL and wants an answer.

For those still curious as to what occurred in LoL, and caused Xtreme to drop the game and delete the thread, I will tell you since I've played through it all. A humanoid robot forced itself upon a child and somewhat mind-broke her.

Holy shit. Well... that answers that. If only there was a way to somehow skip that portion of the story but leave the other, acceptable parts intact. God dammit Japan.

It reminds me a little of some of the hentai games I used to play. Sometimes there would be some content I didn't like, but I just kept pressing the buttion and went through the diologue real fast until the scene was over, and then continued enjoying the rest of the game. As a rule, it never really ruined the games for me.

But then, thats me. Everybody has their own limits and so forth. Bit of a shame, but I respect Xtreme's right to choose what he works on and not. I'm quiet thankful for getting to play up to the point where I did.
