Ladies, Monthly health reminder from the ACS

Hi, Ladies, and Fellas who took the time to read this,

This is Buddy Check Time. 🙂

I know many of you are very aware of your health!

It's advised that on the first Monday of each month, you take a moment and perform a Self Breast Exam. This is the maximum amount of time suggested to wait between check ups. The American Cancer Society provides very specific guidelines!!

A Shower Check is easy. Place one arm in the air and use the opposite hand to perform the examine. Using the pads of your fingers, press in a circular motion around the full area of your breast noticing any changes or lumps that may be present. Perform the procedure again on your other breat. It's also recommended to do this everytime you shower. It will allow you to more easily notice changes.

Breast cancer can be successfully treated with early detection.

Remind the women in your life. Your kind words could save a life.

Monthly Reminder

At the ripe old age of, *ahem*, 29 and holding, I'm guilty as charged of forgetting that all important self-exam. Trust me when I say, it's one that no adult female of child bearing years (and beyond) should go without. A few years ago, one of the girls I graduated high school with was taken (at age 26) from her husband and two pre-school aged children by breast cancer. Her death led to another of our friends detecting a lump during her own self-exam... thankfully, because it was caught early, her cancer is in remission. Thank you for the important reminder, JoBelle!
