Big screen on desk: real estate hog.

Notebook computer on desk: much better.

Now Jpegs come across as negatives and artistic creations. I have to view them from an angle. I'm trying to imagine this on an airplane; both people on the side of me could see the Jpeg clearly, while I would be looking at a photographic negative.

VidClips also have the same problem.

Going full-screen really shows the problem.

Any way to get the straight-on veiwing quality I had with the large phosphor-and-glass screen ?

Resolution prob?

what an odd thing..have you played with various configurations...not sure what tools are available to you, but I'd start experimenting a bit! Q

That's ..

pretty standard...hmm...did you call the companies support line and ask if they've seen this before? That would be the next thing I'd try...

Hmmmmm, let me run that through my mind while wearing my official DC-Comics brand Future Specs (TM) and see what I get...

Tech Support Fellow: "Yes sir, you say this only happens with B/W JPEGS and any sort of MPEG file ?

P50: Yes, that's correct

Tech Support Fellow: Well, I don't have any on my machine. Could you send me a half-dozen samples of the B/W JPEGs and a couple of the MPEGs that will consistently display the error you are describing ?

P50: Yeah sure, I got them from the TMF. Since E-mail and uploads will be so slow with my modem, I'll let you download them using your faster T-1 line. Here's the URL...

C'mon...

You're a tkphile buddy! We have an answer for all these situations! Like Boy Scouts, we're always prepared...grab a semi innocent B & W scene and have it ready to go! Besides, tech geeks aren't exactly easily shocked novices...lol. They're your best bet of getting a handle on this, or at least eliminating a half dozen potential areas that could be the root.... Q

Well well well,,,,

You are correct.

It happens on all images.

I only noticed it on some vintage B/W pics from venray.
