I have been tempted to do this...

Leave a feather at a certain location for another TMF member to find...

at a popular venue... like at DisneyWorld or something... it would have to be in a place they wouldn't clean up obviously, but a small feather is non-obtrusive and might remain intact for a while.

What do you think?

If I saw a feather, even one carefully placed, that wouldn't trigger any thoughts of the TMF for me. I thing it's too vague to expect that kind of interpretation. Now maybe if you left an old HOM magazine...

As long as there's no wind. What happens when they find it?

I'm open to suggestion... just thought it would be cool to find an object that was specifically placed... knowing that it meant something to a fellow member.

I like it! You could mark the feather with some marker or something. It would be sort of cool to find one even if it wasn't right where you left it. I just wonder how many feathers would have to be spread before I come across one and where I would get feathers to spread myself?

As I'm trying, I had a thought - what if we mark our bills with a feather symbol? Can you imagine the distribution? Maybe we'd spread so many bills that we'd become mainstream!

As long as there are crazies leaving comments on innocent YouTube videos and harassing celebrities about how ticklish they are, we will never be mainstream. Lol

It's a cute idea but I think feathers will too easily get lost and I'm not sure the point since we can all interact here in real time.

How mainstream do you want "us" to be?
And what does that even mean?

Mainstream was the wrong word. Accepted was more what I was thinking. My thought was that it would be a visible reminder that would make the fetish more known and leave the impression that there are a large number of us. It would probably backfire though. I can hear it now, "Who are all these freaks marking up our currency?"

Yeah, that'd make me NOT want to get that dollar that had that marking on it lol

Tickling is one of the most accepted fetishes out there. It's shown in movies and TV as a common method of flirting, and even when there's a "torture" aspect involved, when have you seen it portrayed as creepy?

sounds a novel idea but can't see how it would workout, interesting concept

When it's a fetish.

I get why the OP thought of the feather idea - It's kind of cool knowing that a tribe member is close by.

Actually I've never been called creepy by any vanilla person I've told. Maybe you have some personal hangups about your own kinks.

Why would you be called creepy? Peeking in windows is creepy. Tickling as a fetish isn't creepy. If you go around marking up dollar bills with tickle references, then yes, some people may think you're creepy. There are lot out there that think tickle fetish is weird regardless and maybe some who do think it's creepy, but who cares. Wolf gave examples of non-sexual mainstream tickling as examples of it's acceptance. My comment meant that tickling as a fetish is portrayed differently than other forms of tickling.

We're a bit OT but was your comment about my hangups because you thought I was attacking you? Were you attacking me? Where you opening the door to offer assistance? Puzzled.

Isn't anything that's a fetish portrayed differently than its non-sexualized version? There seems to be a lot of conjecture going on here.

To reiterate chicago's point: It's not that weird. Most people don't think it's that weird. It's primarily the people that have the fetish that are all weirded out about it.

I think we're agreeing here.

I disagree. It's not weird but many people with the fetish feel strange about having the fetish because of how people that are different are treated in society. It starts in childhood. It's not a chicken and egg thing.

I'm more than happy to continue in another thread or in pm but I think we've completely hijacked this thread. lol

Fair enough. I'll let you go back to discussing how finding a random feather would make you feel like you're part of movement.

Your answer to "When is it creepy? " was "When it's a fetish" so I misunderstood. We're on the same page now though. My bad.

As the originator of this thread, I would have to agree.

I've had a similar idea myself. More of just leaving a tickling themed note. I like your idea better with a feather but maybe expanding on it somehow. Course the idea itself doesn't really seem to be going over so... but I 've had it myself and always thought it would be fun. 🙂

You could Scotch Tape the feather to a post card: "If found please return to..."

Sounds like a conversation starter to me.
