Thanks for the alert, LimeOutsider. I'll ignore any posts with your name attached until Monday. Your mother sounds like one prize rhymes-with-witch.

As the mother of two sweet little girls in an extremely scary world, I can understand another parent doing something like this. I'm NOT saying *I* would, but since my two are very tiny still, who's to say how paranoid I'll be in 10 yrs? There are a LOT of stories out there about teenagers meeting heinous people via internet and getting hurt, or not coming home at all 🙁. It makes perfect sense to know where your child goes when they surf the net, and if they get all secretive and quiet when you enter the room while they're online you are definitely gonna start to wonder and worry-that makes you loving and concerne, not nosy. And no offense to Lime or the other younger members here, but when posters constantly mention parental supervision and interference I start to wonder if they're really old enough to be here.

jeez-louise, Lime!

:wow:
I didn't really read this post very thoroughly at first. The last time I had to deal with something similar was when I was living with someone. :sowrong:

If you have to deal with that level of prying, you should really change all your passwords immediately and always delete all your cookies, stored internet files and page view history every time you finish using your PC. (Never have your browser "autocomplete" forms or password information either.)

Next, I'd change my operating system to a secure one with a required login and password for each user (e.g., WinXP pro), then purchase my own internet account (with your own ID and password, of course) and computer if necessary. (For laughs, you can even set up a webcam up on motion-detection mode, capture any snooping on video, then email the person the photos if they ever try to deny it. LOL)

All these measures are just stopgaps to moving out though--which is probably the ideal solution if you're at all able to do so.

We came home early due to heavy rains and flooding 🙁 I ahve my own internet account, but my computer is broken, so it dosent do me much good
