Legendary actress Patty Duke passed away this morning at age 69.

I'm very saddened that Ms Duke, who was such a wonderful actress, succumbed at such a young age.

I know that Ms Duke was an extremely famous actress with an extensive history of work.

However, I didn't remember one of the major roles I had seen her in, until I was watching the 11pm news tonight.

When I was in High School, I saw "The Miracle Worker" in an English class, starring Ms Duke as Helen Keller, and Anne Bancroft as Ms Keller's teacher Anne Sullivan. I remember it was a wonderful movie.

When I was a teenager I had a crush on her, first when she was in "The Miracle Worker" and then "The Patty Duke Show".

I am saddened to read about this. RIP: Patty Duke.
