Do yourself a favor and snatch up this definitive documentary about the great, great Lenny Bruce. Narrated by Robert De Niro, produced for HBO, the director has since declared it will never be available commercially, due to music licensing problems with the Miles Davis estate. Please spread this essential doc around, liberally! You will need RAR (or something that extracts RAR) to extract the movie.

Lenny was a brother to all of us, and I feel like we owe it to him to know his appallingly tragic story, intimately. On top of that....he was just so goddamned funny, and brilliant, you could certainly do worse with your time than to put this in front of your eyes.....provocative as it may be.....

Just found these, it's Lenny Bruce week with me over here! I have to attach these to this post.....just for the few that are interested.....

1.) Backstage audio clip of the police issuing a warning to Lenny Bruce before he goes onstage. Sad and pathetic...within a couple of years, George Carlin, Frank Zappa......Richard Pryor....you couldn't even imagine such a thing happening.

2.) Audio of Lenny (and members of the audience, including a young George Carlin) being arrested onstage at the Gate of Horn in Chicago, one of many, many times he was arrested onstage. What's happened right before this audio clip is he's doing his act, and the cops walk in and box everyone in so they can't leave, they're surrounded by cops, audience and performer.
