LILY HAZE: APARTMENT-HUNTING IN L.A.

I'm searching for an apartment in L.A. or somewhere in neighboring communities (it would be quite preferable, of course, to be within relatively close distance to the city's tickling community). I certainly welcome suggestions from TMF members who are residents of the described area. Regional, photogenic locations will be tapped for "tickle torment" videos (exempting monthly visits to Reno, Nevada for video shoots, most of my output will be invested in to L.A. area).

By the way, I'm on a talent search (casting pretty, ticklish models who have no qualms about nudity!).

At any rate, I'd be very grateful for your counsel; shoot me a PM with necessary info. Love to be your neighbor!

Won't forget the traffic, ticklerguyscot; was thrice caught in Rush Hour during my previous visit (June of this year)!

Anaheim, Orange are nice areas, close to Disneyland.
I'm a Photographer, and do Video as well.

Thanks, orangetickler; how close is Disneyland to L.A.? (don't laugh, didn't have the opportunity to visit the park). Looking for a modest dwelling. Are you an experienced videographer?

Its about an hour and a half
Can be less can be alot more
Depends on traffic and how fast u drive

Depends on traffic.
Takes me an hour to get to Van Nuys from Orange during the weekend, week days 1.5.
But it's much nicer in the OC. During the summer it is 10 degrees cooler.

It really depends on where you will work.

Santa Monica is pretty but hard to get to the rest of LA from.

Brentwood, Westwood are young with the UCLA crowd around but expensive. Bel air/Bev hills are pretty unaffordable for a regular person budget.

People really like Venice Beach (young, funky, not as expensive). Longbeach is popular too but far from Hollywood. Silver Lake is young and hip and close to Hollywood if you're looking to live near acting gigs.

West Hollywood is young and convenient but not the nicest place.

So you have to figure out where you'll be working.

ive been living here for a couple months, as you know, lily! i think you'd dig west hollywood or west LA both are nice affordable areas close to all the action.

I'm supposed to check-out locations in Culver City, Van Nuys, Tarzana, Huntington Park, Gardena, Burbank, Glendale and South Gate (have any of these areas been declared "uncivil"?). I need a non-extravagant locale that is still "safe" enough to draw talent and crew for shoots (TMF members, within the selected area, will be invited to conferences and filming locations; I really need your feedback).

Those are all great areas that are both safe and u can probably find talent there to get ur empire going
I'm also willing to join ur company in any way u can use me

Each of those areas have bad spots, but you can find good areas.
Van Nuys may be the exception.
Lived in that area many years ago, surprises me now.
I do work there and don't feel that great about the area.
Especially with expensive video equipment.

I don't know if you found a place or not yet, but here is some feedback on the areas you mentioned. Huntington Park, South Gate and parts of Gardena are not exactly the best places to be. Being in the San-Fernando Valley and West LA are the best places if you want to do "shoots" of your kind. Orange County is good, but it really depends on how far from LA you want to go.

Check out the foreclosure listings on hud.gov--you may be able to pick up a fixable foreclosed property for cheap, for the price of renting.

Cruising to Burbank today, I have a feeling the apartment-scouting will finally conclude in this specific territory. Need some space for hosting some tickle parties (among friends); the same space would function as a makeshift setting for tickle videos (variable sets and green screen). Wish me luck!
