It can be. This is why gatherings took off. People tend to have an easier time interacting with a person face-to-face, or when that person is known to others.

People do respond to such threads when there's more than just our shared interest of tickling.

Some folks don't know to click on your name to find out how to email you, etc. Perhaps the mention of this will also assist.
