{A thread for reminiscing about much missed crap that you can't acquire anymore}

For instance:
Way back in the 80's, there used to be a beer from Canada available down here called Dark Horse Ale. Ah, it was SO good! Words fail me. Crisp, yet not bitter. Almost refreshing, yet not at all light or 'sweet' tasting. Hard to put. Just a certain combination that worked sheer brew magic for me. :cheers2:

I had not thought of it in years, and then this old duffer brings it up out of nowhere in the break room at work last night!

Attached below is what the label looked like, courtesy of quick image search.

So, name some special thing(s) that for whatever reason you can't afford, find or acquire anymore:

Yes,I know I can't smoke anymore but Camel Frost cigarettes.They stopped making them for some reason and I loved them.
I also miss The Oasis Hotel it was taken over after Hurricane Katrina.I miss that place sooo much.It was our annual vacation spot every Easter.They had a lazy river and you could get daiquiris and nachos and cheese,hot dogs things like that.Then,they had a game room by the Grand Casino which was connected to The Oasis by this walkway that was enclosed and allowed you to walk above the highway right into the Grand Casino.They also had Kids' Quest right next door to the game room.It had a huge play place,little movie theater,cafe,games and snacks for your kids to have fun while you were in the casino gambling.In Kids' Quest your child couldn't leave with out you coming to get them but in the Game Room they could leave whenever they wanted because it was more for teens.You could also take the Shuttle Bus over to the game room.They also had a really good buffet.As you can tell I really miss The Oasis hotel.Like I said it is still there but it is not the same.There is no lazy river,no,little shop or sitting area,you just walk straight into the casino.It is really a shame.

There was a powdered bubble gum that I remember from, I want to say, the late 80's throughout the 90's called Bubble Jug. It came in this little, bubblegum pink jug as the name implies, and it was really fun to take pour some into your mouth and let it congeal into gum. At least, I thought it was. It was some of my favorite stuff, until a few years back when I tried to get some. I went to three or four gas stations and finally asked someone working at one if they'd seen the stuff, and they told me it went out of production. I was a little crushed, actually. 🙁

I agree with marie. Camel frost is what I miss the most. I had to change over to goddamn camel crush. Does the job but not quite the same. I also miss television that was, y'know, GOOD. Haven't seen that in a LOOOOONG time.

Marie tsk on your smoking...lol...

hmm i miss shake a puddin...

I have to go with Good Television as well. God, I miss that stuff.

And you know what I haven't had for awhile?

[petergriffin]Big League Chew[/petergriffin]

😀

I also haven't seen my virginity for quite some time. Last time I saw it, it was right next to my sanity...

There's a chain of supermarkets in the northeast called Wegman's. They used to have a great soda up till about 10 years ago called Wegmans' Hot Ginger Ale. And they meant it too!
