the hollywood brother is wondering if anyone on this great super forum here at the tickle theatre has ever used the services of Maaco Auto Body shop for paint or repairs? This is a place that advertises paint jobs for under $300.00 yet there website makes it sound like ti could go much higher than that. The hollywood brother has heard a few things ranging from they do great work to the paint chipping and the old paint showing through within a year or two.

anyway the hollywood brother's hollywood brothermobile is in need of a paint job but the hollywood brother do not want to spend over $3000.00 that numeorus body shoppes have been telling the hollywood brother it owuld cost to paint the car. This is why the hollywood brother is interested in Macco. if anyone has had any dealings with this company or has known anyone who has then the hollywood brother would be very grateful for any info that you can post on this hollywood brother thread

I've heard decent things about Maaco, Hollywood Bro. With paintjobs, it really IS a case of "you get what you pay for". Only a couple of months ago, I had Fact-O-Bake(another often maligned paint shop) do their A+ job on my van. It looks lovely and there's a 5-year warrantee on it.
For a mere $500 more than the $1200 I spent, I could have had a local one-man operation do things. The big difference is, his would have likely lasted a good ten years or so. My van's already a decade old, so there just didn't seem like any point in going the high-end route. My intention is to do a better job with keeping the thing clean and waxed than I did in the past. Speaking of waxes, I'm only gonna roll with carnuba from now on. The problem at the moment is, we're in the rainy season down here, and it's hard to find a break in the weather to put some love on the jalopy. Seriously. It's been raining(at some point) almost every day for what seems like two months now.

So, my point is, you gotta figure in the age of the vehicle, your attachment to it, and whatever other factors when deciding how nice a job you want on it. Whoever quoted you $3 grand better have that shit looking brand-spanking new.

Wow, you could do it yourself for less mon amis.

the hollywood brother thanks everyone for there info and hopes that people keep posting on this hollywood brother thread that was started by the hollywood brother himself

the hollywood brother recently went to a maaco to get a estimate and it came in way cheaper than a regular body shop. the hollywood brother might give maaco a chance to paint the hollywood brother mobile
