A classic, love that film. Years ago I read Man on the Flying Trapeze: The Life and Times of W.C. Fields by Simon Louvish. There's a great little anecdote about Fields near the end of his life, classic W.C., but that's for another thread.

I just watched this a couple weeks ago. Off topic but...Omg the dresses and jewlery back then... I love trying to find pieces when I go out. 🙂 And to do the hairstyles. So sexy and beautiful...

My Boyfriend who is a Locksmith- and specializes in Antiques- a couple years ago worked on a curio chest that had belonged to her. He loves to say- "I worked on Mae West's chest". 😀

There are several different types. The ones Mae West often wore are called ostrich feather boas and it's the kind that most vegas showgirl costumes used to use (although a few still do). Needless to say, ostrich feather boas are now super expensive due to the resurgence of burlesque under it's newest incarnation of neo-burlesque. Great for burlesque lovers but not so great for lovers of anything made from ostrich feathers. 🙁

That would be Catherine D'Lish. My GF owns a custom made ostrich feather boa that I paid for that was made by her. Super expensive (nearly cost two grand and two years worth of savings to afford) but makes for an OUTSTANDING tickle torture tool for people who are feather ticklish (like my GF)! 😀
