For those of you who have read the recent thread about my complaint against MTP...you will be more than familiar with the situation....for
those that are not familiar..the situation boils down to...
MTP screwed up three times with me...first on their site(if interested..read the other thread)..second
by making note of my passcodes in a public forum...The third transgression is unknown to most and the subject of this post......I posted my grievance..in all four
categories of the TMF forums...MTP removed them all...calling them "Spam"...that may very well be...but I have issues with moderators removing "spam" that is about them. My posts...if determined to be spam...should have been removed by a non biased
party...that is...another moderator..not MTP themselves. I had
to keep posting under other names before MTP agreed to lift the block
on my account..and only after i agreed to post to just one forum. Once again...this should not be his descicion to make...but a third
party moderator. TMF needs to establish rules with its moderators
to prevent this from happening. Moderators CANNOT censor posts about themselves. It undermines these boards and the open forum.

I do not know Jeff other than on a professional basis...I do not know jpm at all other than reading their posts...but in asnwer to the above thread...yes, the moderators are also censors. This is a moderated forum whereby certain posts may be removed if they are not in the right fourm (not sure this one is btw) or they prove offensive or they are redundantly flaming.

Quite frankly I don't know the reason your post was removed. The only post I've seen from you is the one concerning the disagreement (which could have been handled by you chaning your pasword, accepting the free month and not complaining that MTP didn't do things the way you wanted them to...please, try to get a large business do to do things the way we want them to, yea right) If Jeff, who runs the whole operation by himself, says there's no time for such thing and offers a suggestion to fix it then either do it or don't. Complaining will get you nowhere.

I don't see where your password was posted anywhere...I do not know how to hack it so I don't know it. And if someone stole it already what's the difference if you just change it? Will it get hacked again? Only time will tell. Luckily Jeff had software to notify of him someone trying to get his services for free. Otherwise he would lose money and have to shut down and then there would be nothing to complain about would there?

Your missing the point...if a moderator can censor a post about themselves..they have to much authority...MTP should have brought my posts to the attention of another moderator..not censor my posts himself. Its no different than a newspaper publishing company not publishing an article involving them...which does not portray them in a favorable light. Its a matter of ethics...a newspaper is supposed to report in an unbiased fashion(yes..I know..its not always the case)...a moderator is supposed to moderate in an unbiased
way..how could anyone say MTP did not have a stake in censoring
my negative post about him? I'm all for moderating..but when you allow a moderator to moderate posts about himself....your giving him carte blanche authority.

Very well, then lets address that point:

This is not a news paper...the purpose of this forum is not to express every point of view no matter what. If a moderator of this privately run froum decides tomorrow that anything involving feathers can no longer be posted then they have the right to. And people who like that will have to find another place to do it. If Jeff decided enough was enough about this deal with MTP then so be it. I another moderator would have deleted the post could you not have said they were doing it strictly becasue Jeff asked them too? What would the difference be exactly? MTP provides the server space for the TMF...that kinda means he owns the ball and can take it and go home whenever he wants. I think the maount of criticism that is postde around here is kind of amazing. And the fact that it is allowed shows that it's not exactly "1984" and the rewriting of history goin on in here.

The moderators have the ability (not a right, but the ability) to do whatever they so choose. We get so caught up in "rights" that we fail to see that some people have the power and some don't. You don't like how they use it in the real world you can fight it. You don't like how they use it around here and that's just part of life. Many people had the oppertunity to be moderators (I was asked ealry on and declined due to time restricitons) and 99% of the time there are no complaints. I think they are doing a fine job and because this particular issue is important to you it bothers you and that makes sense, but really the moderators can do as they see fit because this is not a democracy...lol...this is an internet community with alot of words on it...lol

Shit or get off the pot man....this is something that you should handle one on one with Jeff, not dragging the rest of us in, trying to "rally the troops" against him. Because its not going to work, hes too well established himself as an impartial and fair individual....

Everyone here knows I"m not an aggressive person and practically define "mellow" but I happen to know Jeff in person, met him a few times. Hes a good guy and would never do something like this intentionally. As for abusing his power as a moderator.....you have no idea how easy it is to label a moderator as that just for doing their job and trying to keep things calm and non-confrontational. Wether the rant was against him or anything else, its their job to keep things peaceful. The last thing they want is a huge forum-wide debate with two sides at each others throats because you posted ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE MESSAGE BOARDS...I myself had beef with an individual who was causing trouble in my Yahoo Group and I posted here trying to discredit him. Hes very well known here yet goes on under an alternate alias to cause trouble (and no its not Jeff). I got a very polite and understandable letter from evilqueen saying its something I should handle with him by myself. And as much as I thought its something everyone should have known at the time, I'm glad the post was removed. Sure hes still here and posting as usual, but he'll get his in the end...its called Karma...

I think Jeff has been very tolerant to this point. He has followed standard procedures, and extended the courtesy of his "house" to you despite your provocation. Obviously you feel maligned, and you have expressed that point of view quite clearly and strongly. Just as obviously, Jeff has tried to make amends for your perceived problem, and this is not satisfactory to you at this time. As with any other business dealing, you always have the ultimate recourse, you may stop dealing with said business. As has been demonstrated with companies as large as K-Mart, if enough people agree with you and act similarly, there will be financial reprocussions.

Time will tell...it always does.

Meanwhile, I suggest you move on in your life and upon the Forum.

JPM - Not only were your original posts deleted due to the spaming issue. But you also mistakenly addressed your complaints to "MTJ Productions" and repeatedly refered to MTJ throughout your entire post. Even your current revised post still contains references to MTJ instead of MTP. However you did not stop there. It was pointed out to me today that you took your campaign to the newsgroup alt.mulitmedia.tk where you once again repeated your mistake and addressed parts of your complaints towards MTJ. Unfortunately these mistakes can't be corrected and now are a permanent public record.

This is the results of your unjustified vendetta against MTP . You really handled this in a professional and mature manner. Not only do you present a flawed argument for your case but you have left the impression to some that you are referring to my company.Should I send you a bill for any loss in my revenue this month? Well, if I followed your lead I would be calling for Congress to come to session so that they can review the matter.

Lets keep in mind that this all started because MTP's security software responded to behavioral patterns that indicate password trading and that it was the presumption of your innocence that leaves the only reasonable explanation that your password was stolen or hacked. Otherwise we are left with the impression that you were involved in password trading. Under these circumstances I think that Jeff bent over backwards in his response to you.

Yup, here I am Talons, but I have no interest in his gonads, I do however wish to address his concerns, and sort out the reason for this thread beign here and continuing.

Just so we are all on the same page, let's review.

A user of tickling.ws got up and logged into his account with the desire to veiw some entertainment. Upon getting there he discovered that he was blocked. A disagreeable thing to discover.

He made an inquery as to what was up. He was informed that his account had been being used as a shared account, and had been shut down as a result. The problem discovered, and he beign theproven the owner of the account, it was reopened, and compensation was offered for the trouble. This was refused.

The user wished to know how it was his password was 'hacked' and has made the assumption that it came from MTP's site. This is a faulty assumption. There are many ways to capture a password. The users computer might have a spyware virus on it. The user might use the same username/password in many places and another site that he used it at was hacked. Perhaps it was forced. The thing is, if MTP was hacked, they would know it. It shows once you go looking. Also, they would have lifted many accounts not just one. So given the possibilites I don't think that the password came from MTP.

The user was unhappy with the answers he received. So he decided to bring his case to the public on the TMF.

He did so by postign it in 4 forums.

That is considered Spam here. The posts were removed. it happened that the mod who removed them was Jeff. That matters little. They were placed in the Admin forum for review by me and other mods to see if his call was justified. As they were spam I upheld this removal, based on what I could see of how the situation played out. All mod removals are reviewed. it matters not who does it. it's for situations just like this, that the policy is in place. To prevent an involved party from abusing modship power.

Upon the removal of the posts the user continued to repost, and even created new accounts after his first was deactived, so he could continue. Eventully a settlement was reached, the first account turned back on, and this thread became the result.

The issue seems to be that the user feels that MTP is not secure. and he felt that his concern was not taken seriously and was simply dismissed. And he wants everyone to know that.

Ok you have. It seems we've settled the 'information' aspect of your desire.

As i said above, there are a half dozen ways a password can get out. Nothing I can say will prove or convince you it was one of them, but if Jeff said he was not hacked I believe him. We can tell when it happens.

Oddly it doesn't matter. Outside of your password and login name, MTP servers hold no information of yours. The worst case senario would be that some one would get a password and share it causing a flood check to turn off your account.... This is what happened, and the result? You got your account back after a short time.

I don't see a real security issue here. No finacial data or record lie on MTP servers.

So it seems that the 'worried about security issue' is pretty well done also,

That leaves us with the censorship stuff.

In that your posts were removed. Yes you were censored. it happens here, this is a moderated forum. And as your posts were violating rules (spam) they got moderated. And it always makes people hot. But anyone who posted or behaved the way you did would have met with the same result.

So that settles that. Yup. It happend. On moderated forums, 'censorship' is part of the package you sign up for when you visit them.

I regret that this entire episode has caused you so much annoyance. Jeff's site and here are all places that should be fun for you. Hopefully they will continue to be so as this event fades into the past.

Talons..its the principle..I'm not here to win anyone over..I stated
a grievance with MTP...those who choose to side with Jeff are free
to. I have aired the problem...and those who choose to give it consideration may do so as well. Responding to these pointless
retorts from members is just something I'm doing...I'll grow tired of it soon enough. I'm quite aware of how things are...but I was not about to "go gently into that good night".

I have news for you...he may be a wonderful person..but he did
did something I disagreed with. If you wish to take sides..go ahead..I didn't post for support..merely to report a grievance in a form that will at least see it...a complaint to MTP itself

Myriads...you managed to cover just about everything...you are correct...all i wanted to do was voice my complaint.
The fact that censorship occurs and that this is a moderated forum..I am well aware of. The point you missed was...I don't believe a
moderator should "moderate" a post involving him/her. It should be handed off to another moderator for the sake of impartial evaluation.
THAT is the final problem I have with this whole group of threads.
It is wrong...and there are too many members who think it is ok
for a moderator to wield power unchecked. Their opinions may change when they are the ones being censored by the person they have a
beef with.

Ohhh let me have a crack at this.....ok Jpm i think i know what your problem really is...you only see what you want to when you read a post. Also you only believe what you want to when other things are shown to you. If you can deal with what you refer to as my drivel (as seen in the other thread)..i shall explain.....Myriads clearly pointed out that even though Jeff removed some posts that they were moved for all the mods to review including myriads himself. Yet you state that myraids missed your point. Actually you missed the point jpm. You say talons is siding with Jeff. I hardly saw that in his post. He has had dealings with the mods and in his own way he was trying to do you a favor. If i person tries to point something out to you, you say he is siding with Jeff against you. I guess that in some way soothes you. You say that Mtp has all the info you need to follow up your complaint. It has been told to you that he does not..yet you won't believe that. You get mad becuase he won't reveil to you who the other person was that had your pass or follow up on it...well let me share a story with you jpm...a few years ago i had some credit card numbers stolen over the net. They were used to buy software and porn site subscriptions. When i got my credit card bill i was'nt a happy camper. On the bill was the e-mail address used to purchase the items. Low and behold..another AOL account. So i contact aol. I ask them to look into it and let me have the other accounts info. They said the only way they could release the info was if the police asked for it. Or some form of authority. They explained that even if they gave me the account and the persons info it may of not have been them. It could have been a friend using that account. Or maybe someone hacked their account and used it. So basically they could'nt give up the info...I did'nt like it but it made sense. I actually did go to the police and nothing came of it. Same thing it was over the net..could have been anyone...not in the same state..blah blah blah. The difference here is that i actually made an attempt to do some of the work to track it down jpm. Even if it did'nt work out. My credit card company cut the charges off my credit card bill, but could'nt investigate either. They were very generous in not making me pay for it though. See the simalarity here is Jeff tried to make it up to you when there was really nothing else he could have done. You would have nothing of it. I got smart..i put good virus software on my computer and a good firewall. I have not had a problem since. If any thing good comes out of this maybe you will learn to take a few steps to protect yourself and quit expecting everyone to do it for you.

Not lost on me was how you kind of backhandedly appoligized to MTJ for using their company name in your grievences then basically told him if he would have read futher he would have known better. That was a nice touch. Maybe he has the same thing you suffer from where you say you can't get thru the whole post because its drivel huh....
