This guy used to have the most ridiculously cool name ever. Well maybe after the TMF's Mister Cool. Even funnier, he had a really short family name. That he managed to make a career in spite of it shows once again that it is all about talent.

Unfortunately he changed it, and I hate him for that. I remember the first time I read it on a title card from Crossing Jordan, and I thought "Wow that's a mouthful!" I mean it's so badass! I guess he grew tired eventually from people mispronouncing or misspelling it.

So one more time for old time's sake, I dare you to say it out loud: MAHERSHALALHASHBAZ ALI!!! Congrats, you made it!

And more importantly, congratulations to him for his well-deserved Oscar; the man's got an incredible talent.

Lots of actors pick up a stage name. Another one of the night's Oscar winners uses the name "Emma," even though she's always personally gone by Emily Stone.

Oh I know! And I don't intend to bother him (or her) about that. But it was such a cool name~ If Arnie had shortened his name to Arnold Schwarz for instance it would have been a lot less cool~

There was another guy with the last name of Ali, seemed to have done pretty well in spite of the really short name.
