Mail "virus" warning

We have been deluged with "virus" email just as most of you have. Many times this comes in the name of someone you recognize. This is called "spoofing", when an email address is mimicked or forged and is not actually from the person shown. Among the recognized names being "spoofed" is DungeonMaidens.
If you get an email that appears to come from us that contains an attachment, trash it, do not open it!!!!
We NEVER send out mail containing "attachments" from DungeonMaidens, this mail is NOT from us, it is being "spoofed" to look like us. If you get mail from us it will have the message text displayed with no attachment.

Thank you for warning people Dungeon. The viruses out lately are particularly vicious and plentiful.

Do not open ANY emails that contain attachments. Better safe than sorry. Over one million computers have been infected with the latest one.

If you subscribe to yahoo groups and have emails sent daily you are putting yourself at a greater risk of being infected and spreading th virus to all on your email list.

No. You don't have to unsubscribe to yahoo groups BUT it is better to choose the option "No Mail". View the messages and posts by directly visiting the group itself.

Also, be extra careful of all yahoo groups that are UNmoderated.

By the way Dungeon, thanks for the heads up. I rarely open attachments anyway unless I know ahead of time they are coming and even then, I make sure it is scanned by McAffe prior to opening.

Ive been getting some really wierd messages in my inbox from yahoo groups that I don't even subscribe to saying that I tried to email them a virus. they return a copy of the message that I "sent" and it has my name in the From line. One of the viruses going around, forges email addresses, so it looks like it's coming from you, even though you didn't send it. It doesn't mean you are infected, but probably someone who has your email address in their address book, is infected.
