I love the feature that the TMF has that emails you every time there is a response to a post you have put up. But there is only one problem. Let me go into detail here.

Not every one has a private computer all of the time. For instance, when I am visiting my grandparents, I have acess to the Private PC, but otherwise, I need to go to the library. There are many people at the library, and the majority of them like to stick their noses in other peoples' business. My thought is that the title for the mailers should be changed from "The Tickling Media Forum Mailer" to the "The TMF Mailer" or "The TMF Response Mailer". This way, people sticking their noses where they don't belong won't be able to tell what the email contains or what it's about. Fortunately, I have yet to actually come across this problem (or someone noticed but didn't say anything about it to me, just everyone they know), but I am still a little paranoid. Please help.

Maybe if you hadn't taken your sweet time gettin' here...--Commander Jim Raynor

Hmmm

Good idea. I have no idea how to do that yet, but I'm sure that there is a way. When I have time I'll look into making the change.

Yes, I second dudeguy's suggestion. Good thinking. Thank you, Myriads for looking into it.

Great suggestions. Let me offer another: The next time you're in the library and someone looks over at your computer you should tell them to mind there own @#$%&*% business!!
It works every time for me.

Stay tuned for WallStreet's new book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People--The Next Generation". 😉

I agree

Dudeguy I had this excact same problem at the college that I go to.
When I sometimes went into the computer room(E.D.C its called) and check my mail I noticed heads turning and people leaning over to have a quick peak, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable, so I stopped going there and now I have access to the net at home.

I think you should just Take Wallstreet's advice by telling them to mind their own business, I guess its not saying anything different to what wallstreet and Triple D have already said but its the best solution there is.

WallStreet,

You have a language problem, my dear... I've taken the liberty to translate (edit).

I don't want anyone getting the idea that they can use inappropriate language in their posts. Nothing personal. I curse like a truck-driver in real life, but not in mixed company.

On a different note, I feel you and am of the same opinion as you. Happy Tickling!

Gee Wiz, I'm awfully sorry about all the gosh darn profanity on my last thread. I'll try my darndest not to do it again. Thank you Mia, for showing me that I was being a stinker.

Now I'm really confused--I can't tell which is worse, WS's "profanity" or his sarcasm!? 😉

To be quite honest, I've tried the Mind Your Business approach, but it grabs the attention of the nosy-ass people (mostly kids that are like 8 years old)in the whole library. They all come over to see what's going on and parents come over to yell at me for saying that to their kids, and they say afterwards, What is all this about, anyway? and they look at my cpu screen anyhow. Nobody gives a damn about other people's privacy anymore.

I say we frag this commander.

Another problem is that every time I am on the computer, I can't always be looking behind me at the people watching me, or else I'd never get anything done on the cpu. Every person in the library seems to conviniently sit DIRECTLY BEHIND ME.

I DON'T HAVE A.D.H.D. DAMMIT!!!!!

advice

WallStreet:

My advice to you: don't be sarcastic to MistressMia. Anybody here could very well interpret what you wrote in your response to her to be disrespectful and unnecessary.

Aside from that, I agree with what you said (about telling people to mind their own business).

I'm sure Mia knows that I was joking with my sarcasm. But it's good to see some gentlemen stick up for a lady. I would never rip on a lady, especially one as nice as Mia.
As far as peepers go in the library, I think that when someone is on a computer that it is the equivilent of them reading there mail, and privacy should always be respected. I've never gone to the library to log on so I don't know if they charge money or not, but if they do charge then they should also secure privacy. Either way, there's nothing wrong with telling someone to mind there own Bee's Wax.
And again, I trade posts with Mia and 3D all the time and there are never any malicious intentions involved. "So mind your own #%@&*!! business!!"--just kidding.

If you get charged to be in a library, then something must be severely backward in that town! But anyway, I understand the plight of those who don't have their privacy respected. That's why I never got anything bigger than a 15" monitor when I was on a campus. Who needs people all up in your screen!?
I only check things in the library that I won't check at home. So I keep any tickling/foot or sexual sites for viewing at home. besides, library computers keep history lists too!

So I agree that the name change on the e-mail would be great, a real snoop will find out what you're looking at anyway once you open the e-mail. *shrug*
And tho Wallstreet has a great approach, all it does is make the people around you think you're a weirdo....which is what you're trying to prevent in the first place. *shrug*
