Major Winter Storm For North Eastern United States.

A major winter storm is going to affect the Northeastern United States for the next couple of days.

New York City, and Queens, where I'm located, is supposed to receive up to 10 inches.

In Jeff's area in Boston, a foot or more is forecast.

Following the snowstorm, brutally cold weather is then expected for a few days.


Saturday's low temp is expected to be a balmy, minus 2 degrees F in NYC

The vicious winter of 2017-2018 continues, now with a major snow storm thrown in.

A total of an inch is very little.

They said to the west it won't be as bad.

They are still calling for up to 10 inches where I am, and a foot or more east of me.

Blizzard conditions are outside my window right now.

High winds, and snow falling so heavily, one can hardly see.

The latest forecast on www.weather.com

Says 8 to 12 inches are expected.

That is a greatly increased snow total than was originally forecast.

We'll see what the final total is.

Edit: On WABCTV, they said that the total in the next town from me, is 8 inches so far, and it is still snowing and very windy.

Can we say. a foot of snow?

It may be very close to that. Even Manhattan is forecasting up to 10 inches.

I swear that when I read this thread's title, I thought it was some kind of superhero "Major (as in, the military rank) Winter Storm". Like the Winter Soldier.

It was a winter nor'easter. I am old enough to have seen dozens of them. No big deal unless you lose electric power, just annoying as hell to be out in the wind and the cold.
