Man Kills Mother, Lives with Body for Weeks

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German man killed his mother and then lived with her for six weeks in their apartment, police said on Friday.
"It was a clean tidy apartment, but it was very smelly and there were flies everywhere," said police spokesman Konrad Kordts. "The body was in an advanced state of decomposition."
Police found the body on Wednesday in the mother's bed, where her 42-year-old son, who has admitted to the crime, had dragged her after suffocating her with a pillow.
The case in the city of Gelsenkirchen in western Germany evoked director Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 horror film "Psycho" in which hotel clerk Norman Bates, played by actor Anthony Perkins, lives with his dead mother.
"I am pretty sure that he has not seen the movie," Kordts said
