How the hell does Chicago blow a 3-1 series lead?!?!?!?
I was SO looking forward to a Sox/Cubs Series. It would have been the Series of the Century...

even I hate to admit it, but the Marlins played us tougher thanany team this year. Congratulations to the Marlins and good luck iin the Series. My heart is hurt, but not broken. Mark my words: the Cubs will be back and they are for real. You will see us again, I promise you that. Now to go hunt that damn goat, and crucify it

to my fellow chicagoans. guys (and ladies)the cubs suck!
it was a fluke they got past atlanta! the relief pitching has been their down fall as long as i have been following baseball. i predict that the cubs won't even make the playoffs next year. maybe 3rd place.

As a fellow Chicagoan, Steve, I am extremely disappointed you would think that way! #1, if they were that bad, they wouldn't be where they were. #2, you must have forgotten the power of Dusty Baker's ability to get the most out of little. #3, and the most important, if you really think they won't be back to the playoffs next year with the pitching they have and a few minor adjustments, then you weren't really a fan, just a bandwagon jumper who just jumped into Lake Michigan. They surprised a lot of people getting where they were and they can only get better. The foundation for long-time success has been laid my friend, just wait and see.

by the way, Steve, relief pitching is what got them past atlanta in the first place!! there are only a couple of them in the pen' that sucked Joe Borowski, Farnsworth and Remlinger did good, the rest of them reeked, so if they fix that, and get a couple more bats, the series is ours next year. We are definitely going fishing next year

n.t. i was a cubs fan for as long as i can remember, before tickling even! but i had enough a couple years ago, and dropped the sport not just the cubs. i was only pulling for the cubs for my father. i wasn't a bandwagon jumper, or a fair weather fan. for me, it just didn't matter. but i'm not blind when i see all the same crap going on this year as i did all the times in the past! there must be something in the lake michigan water ,that it makes such masocists out of all the cub fans.
