Great games Yankees but Marlins deserved this win ... they worked there butts off and well the yanks they threw the games!!! Good going marlins always nice to take it in NYC LOL

They deserve it!!

I was looking to start this thread but it looks like I was beaten to the punch.

Although I was rooting for the Yankees, it is abundantly clear that Florida was the better team this time around.

I think that the major factors were

1) No clutch hitting from the Yankees.
2) No overall hitting from Sori. He looked sooo lost it was painful.
3) Key errors in the field and overall sloppy fundemental play.
4) Wells getting hurt in Game 5. It forced Torre to use Contrares in a situation out of his element.

Congratulations to the Marlins. They richly deserve this title.

In some ways, the Marlins remind me of the movie "Major League"

Marlins definitely deserved to win this. They wanted it more.
Great series.

Yankees loose, thuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
YANKEES LOOOOOOOOOOOSE!😀

Now that the World Series is over, I can say: DODGERS in 2004.😀

You know by now that I am a major Yankee Fan but never did I dislike the Marlins. They are a great team with alot of talent. They definitely outplayed the Yankees in this series. Beckett is a great pitcher as is Pettitte but this time he outpitched Pettitte. He is going to be a major talent, Yankees take interest. There will be alot of changes to the Yankee Roster in the off season. Their achilles heel all year has been mid relief pitching. They need a couple of new solid starters and need to get rid of a few dudes in the bullpen. Well Go Yanks in 2004.

Just remember my dear folks that the Yankees won 101 games in 2003 with all their problems and did win the ACLS, Torre did a magnificent job of managing with what he had to work with.

Congratulations to the Marlins, they deserved it.

You don't bring the runs home, you don't win. Period.
You know, I'm sitting there, imagining what's going through the mind of Nolan Ryan or Bob Feller, or any of the other great HOF power pitchers when they watch Jason Giambi flail helplessly at up and in fastballs. Do they think, boy, I'd love to have a piece of this musclebound fool?
And, Soriano. Probably the dumbest baserunner I've seen in many a day. He hasn't helped one iota.
I was on the phone last night with Dad, down in Florida. My father, who bleeds Yankee pinstripes, and used to go to games as a kid with his very last 50c to sit in the bleachers with his younger brother, cozying up to baseball loving, non-English speaking arrivees from Puerto Rico just to get a bite to eat, preferred last night to watch a college game that had gone into like five overtimes, because he's sick and tired of the listless, boring Yankee offense and the lack of concern on anyone's faces. He also thinks that Giambi and Soriano (both of whom put together, I think, would have trouble opening up a walnut, anyway) should be packaged together and traded for some front line pitching. Sounds like a plan.
More pipe dreams, Milagros? The Yankees look like the 1927 Murderer's Row compared to the Dodger lineup. I mean, let's face it. Koufax and Drysdale are LONG gone.
Well, I'm ready for Puerto Rican Winter League...😛

As well as the middle relief, which was their glaring Achillies heel, they need to find a couple of studs to replace Clemens and Wells in the rotation. I'm sorry, Wells wrote his ticket out Thurs night.

I think the problem is that Steinbrenner keeps changing the cast and they don't get enough time to gell as a team. I distinctly remember in the 80's he was mortgaging the farm to bring in guys who either can't take the pressure of playing in NY (remember Ed Whitson?) or are over the hill and can't play anymore. I hate to say it, but next year may be a year to for the guys get to know each other. I think the trade for Boone was a mistake from the start. I know I sound like the Monday morning QB, but you DON'T trade one of you best pitching prospects for a guy who hits 25 homers in a ball park which makes Wrigley Field look like the Grand Canyon

Which beings me to another point, Sign Pettite. What are you waiting for? For him to come in and tell you himself? Last nights game was not his fault.

Although I root for the Yankees, I am a Mets fan.

I'd love to see another subway series in 2004, with the score even if you know what I mean.

How's that for a pipe dream ???

Makes Milagros look like a touch of reality.
😉 😀 🙂

I like you more every day my friend, Dave.
A Giants fan
A Rangers fan and ...
A Met fan!

If the Suits in Met org. get their heads out of their collective asses perhaps a subway series is not out of the question.
The ultimate Yankee insult and humiliation. The Mets beat their ass in the World Series!
First, this year they get beat by the lowest payroll team in baseball and then their cross borough rivals the NY Mets!

Oh yeah!

Now that Phillips is gone, maybe they will get their heads out of their collective asses.

I also think the wrong guy bought the team in Wilpon. He is so tight you could stick a piece of coal up his ass and it would turn into a diamond.

BTW, lets make the circle complete, whi is your basketball team? Mine is the Knicks. If not, well 3 out of 4 ain't bad.

Amazing how a owner of a team can give all the money to the wrong people. Including himself.

As for that circle......it is complete my brother! A Knick fan for sure. Always have been. 4 for 4.

All I can say is that I am glad baseball is over. Unfortunately I know it will be back.

Once again bitterness rears it's ugly head. 🙄

I get a kick out of all the losing fans chirping over a Yankee loss. I give credit to the Marlins for playing an almost flawless series. I always liked "Pudge" and I'm happy for him that he finally got a ring.

How the hell can somone actually say that one team "wanted it more"? You think some of the Yanks actually said "Ya know,I've got enough money and winning is getting pretty boring and seeing as I've never won a championship I think I'm not gonna try that hard". Errors are made sometimes for trying TOO HARD, not for lack of caring, not to mention the pressure of playing for the Yankees, sports most winningest team. New York fans are hard to please, will got on your case if you screw up but give their left arm to you when you do well. There is no 3-4-5 year plan in New York sports, it's win NOW and that's where the pressure is. As for trading Sori I got 3 words for you... ARE YOU FUCKING NUTS??!! The guy almost had back to back 40-40
seasons!! A second baseman no less, the record for lead off homeruns. I know thats what you need for trade bait for a pitcher but they don't have anyone to replace the likes of him. He's young so he'll make some mistakes, that will soon be rectified. I saw this loss coming all season long, no consistency. Players need to gel. ( and if somone says "gelin' like a felon", I'll scream 😛 )

I also can't believe people are looking to get rid of the manager of the Red Sox. Yes he should have yanked Pedro, that goes with the job of being the manager of a team, but Pedro should have also stepped down. Maddox is about the only pitcher I know to pull himself out of a game. Some don't agree with that kind of move, but at least he's honest and knows when he can't go anymore without hurting the team. Now, being a Yankee fan, I'd love to see the Sox fail again but that's just rivalry. Seeing stupidity among a fan base kind of gets me shaking my head. :sowrong:

Time to get ready for a frustrating season with the Rangers now.
LETS-GO-RANGERS!!

Buller Buller?

Have we been watching too much Ferris Buller movies giantfan121262? LOL ( He is so tight you could stick a piece of coal up his ass and it would turn into a diamond.) Close in dialogue lol

MARLINS WIN!! MARLINS WIN!! A new dynasty is in town (provided they re-sign pudge) I knew the Yankees would choke. It's the curse....😀

There isn't a curse you fool lol. They played an awesome series both the yanks and the marlins. That's the bottom line not a curse.

You know, I am still upset that the Yanks lost but I like Pudge, I was watching him through the whole series. He is an excellent catcher but he is a whole lot more then that. He is a leader and seems like an inspiration to the rest of the team. Truly an excellent person. I never disliked the Marlins, just going with my team.

PS, how could you call what the Yankees have done of the course of their history a curse?? LOL

Thanks, BumblBMe, for reminding me where I first heard it. I'm surprised that I remember anything from that movie cuz I was laughing so hard when I saw it. I literally laughed myself to sleep that night.

The curse remark was a joke. I just thought it was funny, because the yankees have lost the world series 2 times in a row. Anyhow, Congrats to both teams, but especially the Marlins. Way to go guys! Lets get it again next year!

WEEeeeeelll whatcha going to do. Yankees made alot of erros these last few games. Marlins are a great team with young players. The marlins were hungry for the championship, and they deserved to win.

Now george steinberner is going to cut this team up like cheese cake.😀
