Fox is promoting their new "reality TV show" titled Married By America, and as the name may suggest, it is just that.

There are a group of participants who have never even **met** before and the audiance will cast their votes on whom they think will make the best couple, and they will be married, by an ordained minister, right on the spot.

Fox has had a history of making trashy shows, for the name of ratings, such as "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire", "Last Resort" (a kind of marriage-counseling), and "Temptation Island" (where the whole point was to try to get people to cheat on their spouse/partner)

Now Fox is sinking even lower by making a complete joke and mockery of the sacred and holy bounds of marriage.

I guess this is indeed a sign of what's ahead in our decadent, morally-decayed world.

Next thing you know, they will be showing executions on pay-per-view

no no, this is perfect for Fox! Honeymoon by America! Our cameras follow a pair of just-marrieds (which could be from Married By America, lovely cross-marketing) as they try to get away from it all for some peace and quiet on their honeymoon. Can they stand it? Can they stand each other? Can our viewers stand for this shit? Of course you can! Tune in and see exclusive hidden cameras in the honeymoon suite 😉

I find this show to be morally repugnant, as well as watching it.

That's the point, people...we keep watching, they keep making.

Reality shows are cheap to produce, plain and simple. Hopefully, this will be just another pop-culture fad. The problem that networks are going to have (and are already having) is that people are now developing very short attention spans. Even succesful shows like American Idol and The Osbournes are getting much lower ratings in thier second "seasons" (about 8 weeks by today's standards).

My problem is that we are becoming a society of people that simply enjoys watching the downfall of others. And enjoying it. Let's face it...those of you who actually waste precious moments of your lives by devoting time to this kindergarten-level "entertainment" are only doing so to see the bad singers make fools of themselves, the crying girls who didn't get a rose, the guys who get hurt or maimed, the people who get publically humiliated.

And don't be too terribly fooled by the "reality" part. As a performing arts major who wasted an hour watching the end of Joe Bullshit while he was half-asleep, I can be fairly sure that the whole end was staged. There was too much traditional "acting" going on. It was too neat and clean for something that's supposed to be real. They all end that way...happy and wrapped-up. "Reality" doesn't work that way. If it ever gets exposed that Joe Lyingsackofshit or Getyourdickwet Island were fake...don't say I didn't warn you.

What really pisses me off is all of the good shows that are taken off the air to make room for this unmitigated mental refuse. Dark Angel, Grounded for Life, Titus, Firefly...the list goes on. All removed to make room for Celebrity Fart Challenge. And not only do we get inundated with this spew every night, we get reruns within the same friggin' week!!! Didn't get your fix of "What Pussy Do I Want Tonight"?...tune in Thursday for a repeat...oh, I'm sorry, an encore presentation.

It seems that the 18-34 demographic of choice has now become the 14-15 demographic. Heads of networks are actually making six-figures off of this fecal matter? :sowrong:

You have some valid points Dave. "If you will air it, they will watch it". In this morally, spirtually decayed "anything for ratings or a quick buck" world we live in, I think it will only get more trashy.

Fox will now have "executions by America" where the audiance will be judge, jury, and executioner

Even Jerry Springer said on record "I am only giving America, what America wants to see"

who watches this shit?

i have never watched any of these shows and never will.
i'm too lazy, or stupid to do it my self, but i wish there was a poll to ask who watch's this crud!
it amazes me that they get sponsors!

I for one personally do not care what Jerry Springer has to say,and the part where he says I'm only giving America, what America wants to see! What a load of crap! Can we say "Trash TV" just goes to show people will do just about anything for that almight dollar:sowrong: that is so sad!
Dave made some great points!🙂 It is sad that there are not very many programs out there for families to sit down as a family and watch.:wow: My 2 cents

You'd be suprised how many people lap this crap up, and then ask for a 2cd serving.

It's sad what people will reduce themselves to, just for the almighty dollar and their 15 minutes of fame.

No one to blame but yourselves

It's so ironic to see conservatives denouncing trash on TV or radio. It's there because of deregulation, which will forever be the legacy of the Reagan regime.

My God, you're right.....we should do what Russia had done years before and have nothing except for State-run TV and Radio

Did Russian state run TV have good programs?

Never having seen it, I wouldn't know. Could their news reporting have been more biased than Fox News?

Well I was in Soviet Union when my father was an Air Force Col. in the USAF.

The Russian Government owned it all....the TV, the Radio, Newspapers, any forms of communication were owned by the Soviet Union.

It was all one-big propeganda machine, mainly designed to promote hatred of anything American.

They actually make Fox News look like a credible news source.

Let's not get off the subject

Don't complain about what you see on TV if you supported deregulation. You made your bed, now lie in it.

Got any more "holier-than thou" to share with us?

Should I grab a pen?
