Massive cold wave gripping much of the country.

My gut feeling now is that anybody who subscribes to the theory of global warming should be tossed naked into Central Park overnight.

Tonight and tomorrow are expected to be the worst of the cold wave. Tomorrows high: A sizzling hot.. 14. F: That will feel soooo good lol.

The thing causing this brutal cold spell, is called the "Polar Vortex". Cecily Tynan of WPVI was discussing this on the 6pm news. She said, usually, this weather is all the way up in Canada, but has made its way down to the north and mid Atlantic US.

Supposedly, Wednesday will be very cold as well, with highs only in the low to mid 20s,. After that, temps should improve to more seasonal levels.

The official low here this morning was 21 or 22 degrees, and the same is predicted for tomorrow. The good news is by Tuesday afternoon we should be near 50 by 2 or 3 PM, and return to more normal temperatures (mid 60's low 70's) by weeks end.

Bug, I know that 21/22 is cold for Texas.

I just heard that Wednesday's high is now predicted to be closer to 30. Even so, I may just stay home.

My dad is in Palm Beach for an extended period. He was bragging about the weather down there too.

In Wisconsin, the temperature today has been fluctuating between -15 and -12 degrees. I heard that the windchill tomorrow should be around -40 below, and that's down south around Milwaukee. I wonder what it is like up in the Frozen Tundra of Green Bay.

It's currently 17 degrees, but with 30 mph winds. The low tonight is supposed to be a roasting.. 9 degrees lol.

Just awakened to a current temp of,.. 5 degrees above zero, with winds of over 20 mph. They said wind chills are 20 below zero or lower.

The bitter cold is bad enough, but the winds make it feel just brutal.

The current temp has just dropped to.. 3 Degrees F. They say low temps are often set around sunrise or just before sunrise. The sun just rose a few minutes ago in NYC.

I just stopped by to say I hope all the Americans affected by this somewhat odd yet quite dangerous and life threatening weather are taking good care of themselves...I've seen the weather and how bad it is there and that it is now heading South and East.

The initial forecast said it wasn't supposed to be as brutal tonight. They were wrong about that.. The current temp is a roasting hot.. 8 degrees F! Tonights low is supposed to be 7 degrees under clear skies. Hopefully tonight will be the last of the very brutal weather, before moderating temps set in.

Record cold here yesterday at 4[sup]o[/sup]F. Windy as well, so the wind chill was well below 0. 😱

How'd you do over in PA? We had an overnight low Monday of -11, with 20+ mph winds and a wind chill factor of 30 below, thanks to humidity. Worst part of the whole experience was this morning when the newspaper informed me that our local animal control services dept. had to answer FORTY calls (from concerned neighbors) reporting observed cases that folks were leaving their pet dogs out in the arctic conditions.

The weather today is supposed to be warmer than in previous days. Highs in the low to mid 30s in NYC with partly cloudy skies. That will feel so much better than it has been recently.

I was in Manhattan today, and it still felt brutally cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be a light wintry mix in the morning, turning to rain, before Saturday finally brings much warmer temps for NY , with a good deal of plain rain.

The area I moved from in VA is going to have a thunderstorm this weekend with a high around 70! I always hated the crazy weather in Hampton Roads. At least the weather pretty much stays the same around here.
