Ross, Fritz and Steve had dinner with the men who were offering two proposals.
One, an outright sale of their company.
The second, energy assets from their company, and,. or., sale of another division, and perhaps energy assets, in , of all places, Canada
The company which Ross, Fritz and Steve were looking at was very complex It was not a "Simple, run and buy 100 million dollar or less company, with either oil, natural gas assets, and or, one other office somewhere.
There were offices and "Divisions" in Dallas, Houston, Montreal, perhaps a startup in OKC which Ross, Fritz and Steve would trademark, and then would become partners with other people, who would run the startup, while Ross, Fritz and Steve focused on RFS.
After dinner, the men parted. The men from the other company understood that Ross, Fritz and Steve had a show the next day. Yet, there could be a meeting for dinner the following night, or, the night after that, before Ross left.
Ross , Fritz and Steve went back to Ross's hotel, and sat in the hotel bar. They talked about the dinner meeting.
Ross sighed,. and laughed. "Guys, as you both know, I've been a part of some pretty complex and what I like to call "Mickey Mouse Deals" in my life. Yet, I will say, honestly, that this one might take the cake" Ross said.
Steve also sighed. "The problem I have, is that this company has so many divisions, and potential smaller divisions, that for an examiner to examine it, might not be worth the time, money or effort. The person looking at it might not know if they are coming and or going" Steve said.
"It's a very unique looking company and proposal. If we dont take it, someone else might grab it. If this was a company for RossShell, it would be easy, I would, or I would tell Vic to, partner up with someone else in the marketing business, and come to a percent arrangement. The problem is, RFS, and we, dont know anyone to do anything like that. I'm wary, and wish we could buy a smaller piece of it, but this is not a piece of "clothing that we can try on" Its either dive in for however much, or simply pass. " Ross said.,
"Let's hit the hay, do the show tomorrow, meet again with these people, and then see" Steve said.
Ross, Fritz and Steve split up for the night, and Ross called Kayley.
"Kale,. I just had the most wild meeting with Steve and Fritz regarding a company that has divisions or parts that almost look like an octopus with eight arms and or legs. We cant figure this out. It almost looks like a too good to pass up, or if we do pass it up, and decide to think, we could lose out" Ross said.
"Do your show tomorrow, meet the people again, and then see" Kayley said.
I might fly home the morning after tomorrow. We have to see how this all plays out" Ross said.
"Okay, see you whenever you get here" Kayley said.
Ross undressed, went to sleep, and tried to just block his mind.
The next morning, Ross, Fritz and Steve met for a light breakfast at the hotel. After that they went to the fields in an SUV, with a "light" 100 potentials, of which only 12 signed up.
No one seemed to care much, as the important meeting either that night, or the night after.
On the way to the field, Steve got a call. The men wanted to meet at RFS office late in the afternoon of the following day. Thus,. Ross, Fritz and Steve were able to get together another show, of " wait lists" while working at the field 150 showed, 25 signed.
After dinner that night, Ross was back at the hotel to sleep.
The following day was spent at RFS offices, trying to "unravel" the proposed meeting and company buy.
Late that afternoon, at five, Ross, Fritz and Steve, met with the same two men who they had seen at the previous meeting.
This time, the "proposal" was simplified. The first deal in principle, would be made for between 75 and 100 million, and would involve Dallas and Houston only Those two divisions would be included. It could either be a straight one hundred percent sell off, or, seventy five percent sold to RFS, with twenty five percent kept by the selling company, for "Royalities and minority involvement.
When Ross, Fritz and Steve heard that, they were closer toward taking a major step toward a deal.
Since Ross had to go home the next day, no one wanted to "Rush things" The parties left each other agreeing to talk again in a few days, with Ross on a conference call, when he got back to New York.
With the meeting being over early, Ross checked if he could make a midnight flight home, and sure enough, he was able to.
Ross went back to the hotel, packed, and called Kayley.
"I'm leaving at midnight and will be home around 6 am. I don't feel great. I'm very out of it. We did a lot down here, and I just want to sleep in my own bed. " Ross said.
"I have not taken any personal days in a long time. I dont feel fantastic either. I will take either a sick or administrative day, and will be here when you get home" Kayley said.
"Okay, Babe, see you in the morning" Ross said.
Ross went to the airport, checked in, boarded, and took off at 1210 am. After changeover in Dallas, he landed at JFK at 5 am, and was home before six.
Kayley was up and waiting for Ross.
The couple kissed. Ross undressed, and joined Kayley in bed.
Ross was worn out. While there had not been that many investor discussions on that trip, Ross felt as if he did not know whether he was coming or going with the potential energy deal.
For the first time, Ross felt like he was working in the old RossShell, before Ross had calmed RossShell down, and turned the day to day operations over to Vic.
That was "not" a good feeling, and things might well get worse.,
Would the "worse" be on the health and or business front?
That would be seen.
