I've had a lump on my gums, near the floor of my mouth, for a long time. I went to the dentist 7 months ago, and he told me that he thought it was a blocked saliva gland. He told me to wait, and see if it goes away on it's own. I waited six months, it was still there. I decided I had to go back to the dentist. He told me that since it was still there, and had gotten a little bigger, that I needed a biopsy. I never once gave thought to the possibility that this was anything serious.

The results came in, and it turns out that not only do I have a tumor, but it's malignant. I was obviously devastated at the news...

Honestly, now that I reflect, I am no longer afraid. I know that the "worst case scenario", is finally being reunited with lost loved ones in the glorious kingdom of Jesus Christ.

I am fearful, of course, but I feel that I can beat this, and I won't give up.

Sorry to hear that, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I too am sorry for what you have to endure Soulfly.
I am hopeful that you will not only beat this, but become a stronger person as well, in life and in faith.

I'm very sorry to read of your trouble. I'll put you in my prayers.

The number one thing you can do for yourself is to keep a positive attitude. Something to think about, laughter has been shown to have a positive effect on healing - good thing you enjoy tickling.

I'm really sorry to hear of your plight, but I marvel at your faith. I wish you well in your journey. Now do what it takes and fight the good fight.

I'd like to thank you all for the kind words. I've been doing nothing but drinking vodka and praying since I got the news... I suppose even faith can only get you so far. I feel robbed to some degree, as if I had so much more to experience on this earth.

If I am to die, I will accept it, and I will rest easy, knowing that Jesus awaits me, with open arms, as he always has.

I ask you to please pray for me, and I wish you all well.

I can't imagine how scared you must be right now, and I certainly won't blame you for wanting to drown your fears and thoughts. But I'm pretty sure your illness and alcohol don't mix. Please be careful-you don't want to make things worse.

And don't give up before the battle starts! Yes, consider yourself in a win-win situation, but wait until all treatment options are explored before you send yourself to heaven. Just prepare for the battle ahead and take one step at a time. God will be with you and we're here for you too.

Take special care.
