In an effort to get rid of unnecessary space used by the TickleTheater, the Staff have of late been looking into cleaning up certain aspects of the forum. This does NOT include any posts or attachments that any of you can access in the regular sections: all clips, images, and stories as well as all posts made are being left as they are, which is as it should be. However, while much of the clean up will not be noticed by anyone and results in no change to your overall TickleTheater experience, one thing that HDS is going to do momentarily will. As you may or may not realize, the memberlist, currently at 48,145 total members, consists in large part (Nearly half) or users who signed up and then never even activated their accounts using the link sent to them in the activation email. Because these users are simply taking up space with no real purpose, a cleanup is about to occur. I am going to purge all members who signed up, never activated their account, and never logged in again from a year ago on back (This year gives any members who registered from then until now a chance to activate their account.). As such, the member count is going to drop by over 10500 members very shortly. Sad as we are to see our place as the Tickling Community with the most members disappear, it is a false place, based on the raw number alone.
Note, again, that this WILL NOT affect ANY active members. Not. A. One. If any member we happen to remove decides to someday come back, feel free to reregister. We are in no way deleting any of these users because we don't want them: we simply don't think the vast majority are ever actually coming back. 😛
The server may become very slow whilst HDS is performing this task, which should take place in about an hour, so please bear with me. If I should crash the thing, rest assured that infojoe will have my head on a pike for all to see very quickly. 😉
