From 'Grunt' level,if one thing has been proven,it's that war doesn't decide who wins...it just decides who's left. I hope everyone in this Country will take 60 seconds of their 'Holiday' weekend, and remember why this solemn day is honored, and have a good thought for all of those who put themselves in harms way and paid the ultimate price. They are the true heroes. You can hate a war...but don't hate the warriors. I will never forget. Riff..First Cavalry Division,Republic of Vietnam,1967-1969. Hooah

Well this is probably 1 of the 2 days I would actually respect.

Salute our active and fallen soldiers.

War is always relative for every side is both good and evil, but only people involved in war are truly innocent and didn't deserve to get there....

There are four days I will always give thanks to those that have served and continue to serve us.

Memorial Day
4th of July
9/11
Veteran's Day

You can say what you want about the administration, these men and women are putting their lives on the line for us. Let's always give thanks but be sure to especially remember them on these days.

yes, remember and honor the brave souls that died for our freedom, i know i do. and above all, you may hate the war, but never forget the troops, support them wholeheartedly, that their sacrifice is not in vain.

As a part of the VA Heath System, I have the honor and privildge to serve those who were willing to offer the ultimate sacrifice so that I and my family can enjoy the freedoms that so many take for granted. So, for me, every day is Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. My father served among you, and I get to serve you now with the pride you showed as you served.

To those who have served, are serving now, and may serve in the future, I salute you!

My grandfather, now gone almost 4 years, was a highly decorated veteran of World War II. He was one of the brave souls who liberated the Nazi Death Camps. He was shot twice, and bravely continued onward, attempting to save the lives of those who could not save themselves.

I miss my grandfather every day...and honor this one aspect of who he was this week...a proud soldier in the US Army.

I salute all of the brave men and women who risk their lives every day so that others may live...thank you all.

My grandfather worked on the flight deck on a Navy Carrier during the Korean War. my other grandfather was a flight instructor in World War II and instructed pilots on the mechanics of dogfighting. as of now, i have a cousin in the marines and 2 in the army over in Iraq. I hope they stay safe as we remember our military's heroes.

Well put. I too am in this same situation. To me everyday is Memorial Day.

Let's also bear in mind that while it's good and appropriate to commemorate their work by devoting one day out of the year to them, the best way to honor the sacrifices of servicemen and women is by exercising and guarding the rights they defend--speech, assembly, worship, critical thought, due process, privacy, etc.--in daily life.
