I have been waiting for this game ever since I beat the original on playstation. I picked up my pre-ordered copy and rushed home. I got ready, and popped it in the good ol' ps2. I began to play, and was unable to put it down for about 5 hours! I finally finished it today, and while MGS2 was worth all the hype and wait, I do have a few complaints. I hate the fact (SPOILER ALERT) that you only play as Solid Snake for about 20 minutes. I think that is a travesty! I like raiden, but he is NOT solid snake! Second, if you have not played any of the previous Metal Gear games, good luck understanding this one! If you have been keeping up with Metal Gear though, the story WILL absolutely amaze you! The ending will be confusing, but once you understand it, it is stunning! It could also be longer, it only takes about 15 hours to complete! The gameplay mechanics have not changed much, but there are enough new additions to make it different. I will say this, the game will be nothing like you think it will be. I say that in both a good way and bad. I think this game has MUCH more good to it then bad though.....and is easily the best game on ps2. Is it better than the original? That will be up to you. My opinion? Yes it is. It has the most dramatic, shocking, and amazing plot developments you will ever find in a game. I reccomend MGS2 to anyone who has a ps2, and would even go as far to say that you should buy a ps2 for this game alone!
