This is a call to all those in here like myself who love tickling and metal music! Doesn't matter what kind of metal (classic, black, goth, folk, death, nu, and so on). If you like metal, let's chat! I could very well be setting myself up for a failed post but I miss talking music sometimes.

And since metal and horror go hand in hand (my opinion) if you love horror movies, you're welcome to chime in as well

I LOVE 80's and early 90's Hair Metal. Aka Van Halen, KISS, Twisted Sister, Warrant. I was growing upin the 80's but I always LOVED seeing some the videos, the sexy women, the clothes, the HAIR!! In the later 90's I was able to meet a ton of the bands. I love fun, SEX/SEXY, dramatic lyrics... and I loooove great guitar solos. The videos too were just awesome. I don't care if they are cheesy... Hair Metal was FUN. And HOT in so many of the video's. Warrant's "Cherry Pie" video is an awesome, leading example.

From there I enjoy some Metallica, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, and a lot of Classic Rock from the 70's. Also if I hear something good I will tune into a band no matter the offshoot of Metal. But it for me has to have at least 3 things. Good/interesting lyrics, good guitar, and I can understand what the singer is singing about.

I grew up with Iron Maiden! I can kind of classify them under 80's metal for the most part. But that spread to band of today like Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, and even some of the screaming bands (I front a screaming/singing band so I'm able to decipher what they say) haha. But you definitely named some truly epic bands! Thank you

Yea, I started with Hendrix/Sabbath and worked my way up to full blown death metal, to electronic music with metal blended in (https://youtu.be/9r40P4TE2Aw There's some horror in there, he likes mixing gore with his schtick).

It really depends with me because I'm so far allover the spectrum.

Yea the 80s were a time of invention.....everyone was interested in seeing what they could pull off and get away with on one side, where it was a pretty hot hair party until everyone got serious.

But once they got serious, they turned into a whole bunch of wtf! Axl Rose=I rest my case haha

That or you listen to Steel Panther and you're like "holy shit these guys are dating themselves...." haha

Dude, I actually went way back the other night and watched This is Spinal Tap and Heavy Metal Parking Lot. Haha I'm only 31, you know you're a metal head if that shit brings back memories no matter what age you are haha

Ha I'm 32, I never heard of Heavy Metal Parking Lot, but I've seen This is Spinal Tap. Another (sadly maybe) hilarious documentary is "Anvil: The Story of Anvil" haha.

I just checked out trailers for Anvil and HMPL!!! I'll HAVE 2 see those!!!!

And don't forget The Decline Of Western Civilization 2: The Metal Years!!!!! 🙂

horror and metal for life.....the classics are the best

I'm showing my age here....not at all into what is known as metal in the 90s or today, but the dawn of metal I was very much into. HUGE fan of Scorpions (the 1974 - 1982 Scorpions...not their watered down pop/rock stuff that dawned in 1984 and up), Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Ozzy (the hard early solo stuff - not the later 80's and 90's that was watered down)...the list goes on.

That's not showing your age, that's showing taste! Haha. I may like some of the metal of today (mostly from Scandinavian countries and England) but we wouldn't have half of that with them. Like I said, I'm 31 and listen to Iron Maiden religiously! And as far as Opeth goes, I could really only get down with Deliverance.

So many bands......but Iron Maiden, Slayer, 3 Inches of Blood, Motorhead, Anthrax, Overkill to name a few.......

Here's a few of my very many 70's Scorpion faves 🙂

And as far as Opeth goes, I could really only get down with Deliverance.

Deliverance
is a cool album, my favorite tracks are "A Fair Judgment" and "Master's Apprentices." But it's just the tip of the iceberg. There’s Blackwater Park – at least for "Draperies Fall", "Dirge for November" & "Harvest". Then, there’s a deep soul that comes with Damnation album. No turning back for me. I love ALL albums and almost all tracks by rank. It is all about the musicianship, extreme vocal "contrast," majestic riffs, unpredictable chord progression, and very careful use of dissonance. Just my opinion of course. They may sound crap to others.

Definitely a metal head here, although a little bit of a different taste (it's incredible the vastness of the metal genre). I really do enjoy metalcore and deathcore (don't hate me metal elitists) like Whitechapel or Impending Doom. I also really enjoy symphonic metal and power metal, like Nightwish or Stratovarius. Also a fan of nu metal, like Disturbed and Slipknot.

Love me some metal..\m/...I grew up on NYC and Albany area hardcore, among other things, however I love the whole metal genre. I'm more of an acoustic guy now but still follow the progression and continuing evolution of bands like Machine Head and Black Label Society.

I've listened to a variety of modern metal genres. The first metal band I got into was Children of Bodom. Eventually I grew out of that phase and my friends introduced me to Nightwish. Later, I discovered metalcore (BFMV, All That Remains, Atreyu). And now I listen to more classic metal such as Metallica and Iron Maiden. I also listen to EDM which is like the complete opposite lol.

So yeah, I went from melodic death metal to trance. Weird how that works out.

I am very much into metal. I am slightly more into Northern European bands than the American ones, but I can enjoy the likes of Metallica, Slayer, and Cannibal Corpse. I used to listen to Korn when I was in my teens, and I still do, but I do not like the most recent releases.

Some of my favorite bands include, but are not limited to: Children of Bodom, Epica, Nightwish (with Tarja, otherwise meh) and Delain.
