Mic setup

i plan to call into the radio show tonight via my mic, i tried once before and didnt pull it off, wouls anyone be kind enuf to tell me how to set it up? so far i have a mic and i know what hole to plug it into and i can hear myself thru my speakers, im running XP pro and firefox 🙂

If you're using your computer to call in the mic would have to be tied into the program you're actually using to call. Skype is the popular (and free) provider (Others include Vonage and AT&T's CallVantage) and each should give you a program to install to use the service. That program should interface with your mic automatically. If it doesn't, you'll either have to dive into its menus to find out how to get it to see the mic or (in Windows) will have to visit Start>Control Panel>"Sounds and Audio Devices" (Or "Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices" in category view) and play around a bit.
