The Good Guys embarked on their next road trip. They began the trip by winning two of three in Washington, before losing two of three in Philadelphia, and winning two of three in Cincinnatti. They returned home, on a Sunday night, to begin a nine game homestand, against the teams they had opened the season with.
While Mitch was away on the trip, serious thoughts swirled through his mind. While he hoped to solve his situation with Naomi, he also arrived at another decision: If she continued to keep him in the deep freeze, and would not settle the situation between them, by the end of the current season, he was going to solve it, by retiring, and leaving her. He could not see playing past the current season, with the unhappiness between them continuing.
Things between Mitch and Naomi weren't getting better, as they were sleeping apart, and not talking, but, on Monday night, before the game with the Mets, Mitch was summoned into Elmont's office, for a meeting with Elmont, and Lee Sniderman: "Mitch, we dont want to pry, but we know you and Naomi are having problems. We can see it in the way both of you relate to each other. We are fearful that if something happens to your marriage, that you will want to leave us. We are prepared to go against team policy, to offer you a contract for next year, with a raise, and will do the same for Naomi, so that the two of you can stay Good Guys, together, or apart" Sniderman said. Mitch took a deep breath: "Guys, this means more to me than you know, and I thank you both from the bottom of my heart, but, until I see if this is just another one of our spells, or if it really is the end, I cant commit to anything. If Naomi and I split, I have to decide whether I'm going to continue to play ball, or retire, and do something else, and where I'm going to live. I appreciate the offer, but I cant put my name to anything, until I see, can you both understand that?" Mitch asked. Sniderman smiled:" Yes, Mitch, we certainly do, and please understand that this comes with no pressure. We just wanted you to know" "I do, and thank you" Mitch replied.
With that situation settled, the Good Guys took the field that night, for their game against the Mets. Kate Hudson was on the hill. Kate allowed only one run in seven innings, as the Good Guys rallied from a 1-0 deficit, to score three runs, as the bullpen finished the game, and the 3-1 win. Gil Bellows pitched the next night. He allowed two runs in six innings, as Paradise rebounded from a 2-1 deficit, to score four runs in the seventh, for a 5-2 victory. Charlize Theron took the ball on Wednesday night. She got hit hard, allowing four runs in five innings. The Good Guys could not recover, and lost,
4-3.
Thursday was an off day. With Mitch and Naomi still not talking to each other, they went their seperate ways, to the casino, with their respective friends.
Atlanta came to town on Friday night. Neve Campbell was the starter. She gave up only two runs in seven innings, as the Good Guys scored three runs in the sixth, and hung on for a 3-2 win. Rachel Leigh Cook took a 9-1 battering on Saturday night. Kate Hudson and John Smoltz hooked up on a sunny, dry, 85 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout. Both pitchers were dueling to a scoreless tie, until the eighth, when Smoltz made one mistake. The mistake was hit 400 feet over the center field wall by Ed Burns, for what turned out to be the only run of the game. Hayden relieved Kate in the ninth, and finished off the 1-0 shutout of the Braves.
Houston entered Paradise on Monday, for the homestand's last series. Gil Bellows pitched on Monday night, and got hammered, allowing five runs, in a
5-3 defeat. Charlize was on the mound on Tuesday night. She gave up but three runs, but the Good Guys could get none, and were shut out, 3-0. Neve Campbell took the mound, trying to avoid the sweep, on a sunny, dry, 84 degree Paradise day, in front of a sellout. Neve allowed only one run in six innings. The game was tied, 1-1, with the bases loaded, when Ed Burns came up in the sixth, and blasted a Grand Slam homer. The bullpen started giving up runs, until Hayden came in and saved the day in the ninth, with a 5-3 lead, to preserve the 5-3 win, that completed another five and four homestand. The team was just "slogging along", as manager Elmont kept saying in the post game interviews. As the team packed to head to New York the next night, things were status quo.
In the meantime, the team held it's Saturday tickle party, following the loss to Atlanta. The featured lee would be a beaiutiful petite 19 year old blond named Maryann, who was working in an apprentice program, in the team front office. Maryann was tied hands and feet to the bed, in a bra and panties, in the middle of the fetish club. Second baseman Russell began the tickle on Maryann's neck with fingers, as her head shifted, and the giggles began:HEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEEHE! Working down, Center Fielder Burns was next, tickling Maryann on her underarms, sides, ribs, and belly with fingers, as she squealed:HEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! NOOO! Moving down, pitcher Gil Bellows was the next ler, attacking Maryann's hips, inner thighs, and knees with fingers, causing her legs to buck:HHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! Finally, Mitch positioned himself at the hot blonde's soft soles, and attacked them with his fingers, two feathers, ice, and an electric toothbrush over her butter soft soles. Maryann went beserk, flexing her toes hard, pointing them down all the
way, and wiggling them wildly, as she begged for mercy, tears in her eyes from the hysterical girlish laughter:HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEEHHEEHEHEHHEEHHEEHE! OMG PLEASE NO MORE! MY FEET ARE SOOOOOOOOO TICKLISH! I GIVE UP! NOOOOOOOO! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHE! Finally, the tickle ended, and the hot blonde was untied.
On Thursday night, Mitch was packed to leave on the road trip, and on the team flight to JFK Airport in New York: "What I said to Lee and Elmont stands. If you dont deal with this with me by season's end, I retire, and divorce you. You cant keep me in the deep freeze forever, without me taking some kind of action" Mitch said. Naomi shot Mitch a look of stone: "I dont give a fuck what you do. Now take your bag, go on your trip, and get the fuck out of my sight!" Naomi said, with a cutting tone. Mitch, without another word, picked up his suitcase, and left the apartment.
So, it had been another homestand of no progress off field, and treading water on field. Now came another nine day road trip. Would Naomi ever have a meaningful talk with Mitch? That answer to come in the continuing story of the Tickle Team From Paradise Island.
