On June 4 1942 the Battle of Midway began, lasting until June 7. Normandy was the turning point of the war in Europe, and Midway is seen by many as turning the tide of the Pacific War, although years of bitter, bloody fighting lay ahead. Midway often seems forgotten today, over-shadowed by the ceremonies for those who landed on the beaches of France. They are all worthy of being honored and remembered.
