It turned out, that when Ross awakened, the phone call was not as bad as he thought. It was just a business problem that needed to be ironed out.
As time was going on, Ross and Kayley had a far more serious problem.
Kayley was now fifty, and her menopause was upon her.
While Kayley was able to keep calm at work with calming medication given to her by Ross's neurologist.
Kayley's behavior toward Ross was becoming increasingly difficult for Ross to handle.
Kayley was cranky, irritable, would pull away from Ross if Ross tried to touch her, and would fly off the handle about the smallest of things.
Finally, Ross almost "Dragged" Kayley to the internist.
"It's menopause. Kayley is fifty, nothing unusual for this age. Kayley, you might just be this way for a while, until the menopause is over" The Doctor said.
Kayley nodded her head, and said quietly. "Okay"
Ross and Kayley ate dinner quietly, and got into bed.
"Ross, please . I think you know what I dont want. I will let you know if I'm in the mood" Kayley said, quietly but pointedly.
Ross sighed, not wanting to push his luck. "Okay, Kayley, except for a kiss goodnight if you want it, I will leave you alone" Ross said.
Kayley and Ross fell asleep. Ross awakened with a huge hard on. He went into the hall bathroom, relieved his load, and then went into the shower in the hall to clean himself off.
When Ross got back to bed, Kayley was awake. "Where the hell were you, market boy?" Kayley said, in an accusatory tone.
Ross sighed. "I was jerking off in the shower, okay? Since you made it very clear that you dont want me to touch you!" Ross fired back.
"Ah ha, that's just great, and did you think of what would happen if maybe I wanted some? " Kayley fired back.
"Stop it, Kayley. You have made it very clear recently that you have not wanted me to touch you! I woke up hard and needed to relieve my load. Excuse m'oi! " Ross clipped.
"Its almost like you want to start a fight! " Kayley accused.
"No, Kayley. "You" are the one that started this. You made it very clear that you did not want me to touch you. Fine. I respected your wishes to not touch you. I needed to relieve my load. That does not make me a bad person!" Ross said.
Kayley got up and went into the den. "It is too late to debate you about this. At least one of us has to go to work tomorrow. That being me. You can lie here and jerk off all you want for all I care!" Kayley said.
Kayley went into the den, and closed the door as loudly as she could so as to not wake any of the neighbors up.
Kayley drifted off to sleep, while Ross lied in bed and stared at the ceiling.
In the morning, Kayley awakened and showered in the hall bathroom, while Ross showered in the master bathroom as usual, threw on slacks, a polo, and a sport jacket.
Kayley was in the kitchen. "Hello! Doesnt your partner of 27 years rate a Good Morning?" Kayley charged.
Ross sighed. "Good Morning"
Kayley sighed. "Ross, I know that I'm irritating you. Part of it is that I dont feel great, and I feel like part of it is not within my control. You know that normally unless you lie to me about business or disregard my feelings, I never act like this. I just dont feel myself. Please bear with me. I promise you that if this continues, I will get one of the Doctors to reommend a psychiatrist okay?" Kayley offered in compromise.
Ross sighed. "Okay"
"Now please come here and kiss your partner goodbye. It is my intent to make it up to you tonight. I know that I really upset you last night" Kayley said.
Ross went in Kayley's face. "You are my weakness, lady. I can bulldoze over anyone in business, but with you, you have me wrapped around your finger" Ross said.
"How about we go out to dinner, my treat, then I give you my sweaty feet, the ladder, a sub tickle torture, and sex?" Kayley offered.
Ross kissed Kayley. "That sounds like a wonderful idea to me: "
Before Ross was about to bolt out the door, Kayley said. "Babe, I know that you're upset about a lot of things. Please try to stay calm. I know that those dizzy spells you've been having can pop up at any time" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "I think I have everything set in my mind. Harton is being serviced. We promised Tim and Sarah that we would stay out of their personal lives. The next OKC trip will be when it is, and I am just going to try to stay calm. I'm sure that when I get to the office there will be a hundred different things to piss me off, but I am going to try to not let them get to me" Ross said.
"Okay, have to go. Have a good day" Kayley said, kissing Ross again.
"You too, my wonderful partner in life" Ross said.
Ross took his Uber toward the office, texting with clients, and reading papers.
When Ross got to the office, Vic met Ross with a somber look on his face.
"Ross, I dont know whether to tell you what I have to say, or just have you read the e-mail" Vic said.
"Uh, oh, from the look on your face, and that tone, something is wrong?" Ross said.
"Is it ever!" Vic said.
Ross went into his office, trailed by Vic, signed into his company CEO e-mail, and his head and heart hit the floor like an anvil.
