Modern Jetta

Eh, this one's been around for awhile on DA, but what the hell...

Anyway, I attempted to make a modern (90s?) spin on Jetta Maxx of (love it or hate it) Sega's Eternal Champions. Quite a bit more practical than an 1899 acrobat's outfit (which wouldn't be the best to go down the street in) but I tried to keep a theme of her original outfit present too (such as the ribbons on her arms/shins/shoes, bladed bracelets and of course the bladerang). Probably a similar color scheme too (reds and blues).

It's supposed to be a split skirt / ripped biker shorts combo, although it might be hard to see. And the (single) sleeve on her left arm reads 'MAXX'. I might like to give her a few more accessories (earrings, perhaps a chain similar to her belt's design around her neck etc). I think I'll be dumping the leg ribbons though and just stick with the anklets.

Again, Jetta's a character I deeply love (and hate Sega for neglecting...like EVERY series they had) so it's another of those 'take her under my wing' type deals...probably want to draw more of her. ^^

I'm not familiar with the video game (I never seem to be familiar with the video game! XD), but it's certainly inspired a most pleasant portrait! Jetta's confident pose is complimented by a rather rough-and-tumble wardrobe (the chain belt; those heavy-looking discs at the wrists and ankles; the wisps of cloth, hinting a jury-rigged repairs) with enough feminine touches to remain alluring (I've been a sucker for crossed shoulder straps since I saw Anne Francis wearing a pair in Forbidden Planet). Shading is very effective; densities nicely define not only skintones, but different fabric layers. I'd certainly like to see more of this character, perhaps in action stances as well.

I hope it's enough of a good look to both resemble her 'normal' look and seem 'contemporary'. ^^

Actually, that was the intended look. 😉 A real 'fighter' of a gal, but cute/sexy enough to be alluring as you said. Tough and cute. ^^
Techincally, her old outfit (from the game) had a similar 'cloth wisp/ribbon' theme, cause she was an acrobat/gymnast. Same goes for the bracelets/anklets: they're actually BLADED...so both adding to her appearance and helping her fight. 😉
I was a tad worried on the shading though...some have had trouble telling apart the shorts and skirt element (I'll have to work on the length difference for those) and perhaps too much 'color' (she IS flashy though 😉 ).
Also, for the heck of it, just as refs here are two (pretty old) sketches of Jetta in her outfit from the original game(s). Maybe they'd help the theme comparison.
