The next morning when Ross got up, he was so at his wits end between what he had found out about Fish, and Kayley's reaction, that he decided he needed to get out of New York.
Ross texted Steve. "When you get this, please call and let me know whether you can set up a show within 24 hours. I have to get out of here. Between what Fish may or may not be doing, Kayley is giving me BS that I dont need, and I really have to get out of here. " Ross said.
Steve called Ross. "Give me until the end of today. I will be able to set up a show with up to fifty people. Come down tonight, and we will go to the field tomorrow" Steve said.
"Perfect, thank you" Ross said.
Ross went to the bedroom, packed a bag, took that and his briefcase, and headed toward the door.
"Where are you going?" Kayley charged.
Ross looked at Kayley with a stone cold look. "I'm leaving you., I cannot be here anymore. My attorney will contact you" Ross said, calmly but with point.
Kayley sighed. "Ross, please. I'm sorry about what I said last night. Please dont do this. Let;'s talk,. I will tell them I will be in late today because my husband is sick. Please sit and talk to me" Kayley appealed.
Ross sighed and sat down. "Honestly, I was going to leave last night, I wanted to, but, we both know that we are so tied into each other, that if one of us leaves, we will only come back. Where I am really going is to OKC. I have to get out of here, Kayley. The thing with Fish and the possible problems he is creating, have me upset and in a fury to no end. I'm not going to change anything at RossShell, because, Vic is doing so well, he deserves to be given the opportunity to continue. Plus, we both know that I dont want to deal with Timothy or Charles Harton. on a day to day basis Having things set up the way I do now, makes that possible. If I sit here, and sit in the office, just approving accounts, or working on small accounts, we both know that my mind will be cluttered with the situation with Fish. Thus, let me go to OKC, spend three days, have a nurse with me, and I will be back in two or three nights from now, okay?" Ross said.
Kayley kissed Ross. "That sounds fine., Baby. I promise I will not bust your chops. You have lived up to your word not to obsess about RossShell, and make RFS your main focus. As for Fish, you really have no choice but to let that play itself out. Dont drive yourself crazy about something before you know the facts, and even if you do find out the facts, and they are not good, or even very bad, just deal with whatever circumstances come up in the best way you can. Trust me, if Fish is doing what you, Steve, and Mister P think he is, all of you will be affected. Maybe you can use anything bad as leverage to kick Fish out of the company, get some of the Tundra accounts, and have someone else run RFS Tundra besides Fish. Just see how it all goes" Kayley said.
Ross kissed Kayley. "Thank You. There is the rational Kayley I know and love for 27 years. I will just go in and putz around in the office. When I get to OKC, and I'm face to face with Mister P and Steve, we might be able to discuss some ideas in depth of how to deal with Fish, that can be better done in person, as opposed to any phone call" Ross said.
"Okay, Good Luck, and be careful" Kayley said.
"Thank You. Take care, and I will call you tonight" Ross said, kissing Kayley goodbye.
Ross went to the office, and worked on some "Wild out there plans " for RossShell just to keep himself busy, even though most of what he was thinking would never happen, except maybe .. one, but he put that out of his mind for the present time.
At 3, Ross left the office. His flight to OKC was at 630. Ross said goodbye, went to the airport, got on the plane, dozed, and got to OKC at 1030 OKC time after changeover in Dallas.
While he was leaving the airport, Ross's phone rang, it was Steve.,
"We are right outside the airport. Come meet us, we will drive, and find some place for a late supper" Steve said.
Ross found the other guys, got into the SUV, and went to a Texas style steakhouse that was open late, where Ross ordered a burger and salad.
Steve started spreading papers and giving Ross files.
"We did not want to tell you on the phone. it might be very, very, very bad, Ross. Fish is.. corrupt, is the bottom line. We had another attorney investigate, and we found out that Fish might well have taken money given to him by investors of RFS, and other companies he is involved in, and earmarked it for personal use. The good news is, we found an attorney in Dallas, who thinks he can sue Fish for all kinds of claims, and kick Fish out of RFS Canada. We think we also found a way to split RFS Alaska Tundra from RFS Canada, so that if we lose anything, we might take what would be a significant loss, but not as bad as it could be. I know that its late now. We will call some people when we get to the office tomorrow, and not even do a show. With you here and present with us, we can do a conference call, and hopefully , start to get to the bottom of this cesspool." Steve said.
