Is there a daily system maintenance scheduled for the site around 7 am EST? The response time seems to consistently take a significant hit (30-60 sec/page) between 7-8 am.

If this is generally the lowest overall site traffic window, then obviously it’s an appropriate time for a performance hit, otherwise perhaps there are other issues at play?

There has been some slowdown in that period. We put a monitoring solution in place that should send a notice when server load gets too high. Have you been noticing it in the last day or so? We have not received alerts during that time.

It just took about 15 sec for the main forum page to come up before I got to this thread. If you start navigating the site in the 7am hour, you're bound to get at least one very long page response time. It doesn't seem to happen any other time of day.

I can't imagine this time of day would be particularly high in traffic. If you're not personally doing scheduled maintenance for the TMF, are you sure the site host isn't doing something at this hour? I'm suspicious about a maintenance task because it's tied to GMT; before we changed from daylight to standard time, the performance problem was consistently in the 8am hour.

It happened to me this morning (Saturday, November 23rd).
I was posting normally from about 6am until 7:05am when the TMF just froze up. No page would load. Other websites were fine so it wasn't my computer or internet connection.

I went grocery shopping and did some errands. When I returned, it was after 8am and the TMF was fine again, functioning normally.

Any explanation?

I think I turned off what was doing it (unneeded statistics software). If you still see the slowdown, let me know.

I have made two changes that should hopefully resolve this. Please let me know if you still see these, or any other, errors.

Sorry if this is a bit off this topic, but I just got the following message displayed on a White background when I clicked on the "Advanced Search" button at 23:59PM British Time,: "Warning: Declaration of vBForum_Item_SocialGroupMessage::getLoadQuery() should be compatible with that of vB_Model::getLoadQuery() in ..../packages/vbforum/item/socialgroupmessage.php on line 261".

I don't know if others get these messages but I just thought I'd mention it as I have never seen them before in the last 4 years.

Update: I also got this message "Only variables should be passed by reference in ..../newreply.php on line 389", when I clicked on "Post Quick Reply" to make this post at 00:21AM British Time and another post at 00:10AM British Time.

Thanks in advance for all your help, Sandalstickler.
