Moulin Rouge, a love-it-or-hate it movie: Who loved it? The critics, me, my gay friend who cried at the end with me (sometimes gay men are SOOO much cooler than straight men, you can just bond with them), and many audiences. Hailed as the best movie of the year by many... I'm not sure about that, but I think definitely the most unique movie of the year.
Who hated it? People who should go see the Scorpion King. Hey, pro-wrestlers, a hot chick, a plot that doesn't worry too much about getting in the way of the manly violence and special effects.
I'll save you all some money with this helpful advice; it probably isn't a good idea to pay to see a musical if you can't sit through one song.
