Movie theater or home entertaiment

Just wanted to see how many of you people still go to the theater to watch movies or have you bought a home entertaiment set and are watching dvd's instead. Speaking for myself, I only gone to a few movies this year because I think the majority of the new movies suck! I considered buying a big screen tv, but I would not get my money's worth of entertaiment (they are still pretty expensive). Any thoughts on this.

I go to the theaters on occasion, but mostly I buy the movie(s) on DVD/VHS [mostly DVD] and watch them at home. Hell of a lot cheaper that way I think. Some places charge $6.50 as the 'bargain' price, but then there is the popcorn, candy, and soda. All of that stuff adds up. Also, watching movies at home is easier and cheaper, because you can stop, rewind, pause, and go through the previews that you can't otherwise do in a movie theater. That is my 2 cents.

I like going to the theater when I REALLY think that the movie has got some major special effects worth seeing and hearing on that level... but I prefer to watch the DVD at home, 'cause I get to lay on my bed with my girlfriend and go to the bathroom or the kitchen any time I want without worrying about missing any of the movie...

Mostly movies rather than DVDs. Never buy consessions though.

I do not like movie theaters at all and prefer to watch movies on my old, trusty VCR and 12" black-and-white portable television 🙂

I have to really want to see a movie to drag my lazy rear into a theater. It also depends on where the film is playing; there are some cinemas I won't go into, largely because of incompetent projectionists and indifferent managers. There is also one in town with seats like upholstered stone benches. (I sat through "Gone With the Wind" there a few years ago when it was re-released. Couldn't walk straight for days.)

I never go to the movie theater anymore myself. Far too much money for a single movie. Besides, with the projecter and speaker setup I have at home, t'would be a waste. Not to mention Theater food makes me gag. XD
