For any forum members affected by the current heat wave.

Even if you work at home/inside, or stay inside a lot.. do any forum members feel.. muscle cramps.. due to the extreme heat? The only two times I've been out this week.. were to food shop early Tuesday morning, and early Friday morning. Besides that, I've been in my apt, AC on, working, and resting. Yet, I feel like I'm having muscle cramps, which they say are a sign of heat stroke/heat exhaustion. I've been drinking a lot of water, and unsweetened iced tea, and taking showers to cool off, and yet, I have these muscle cramps.

Was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

While water is keeping you hydrated, you probably have lost electrolytes through sweating (even briefly, and it's hard to reabsorb in high humidity times). You may benefit from one of those electrolyte drinks, though I'm not a huge fan of Gatorade or any of the "Ades". Just my thoughts.

Thanks, des.

I had been drinking a lot of regular iced tea, but I'm supposed to watch my sugar intake, due to my bp and weight issues. Yesterday I bought diet iced tea, and have been drinking that. The muscle cramps still bother me some early this morning, but maybe its not as bad.
