Heya guys 😀 .
This is my latest attempt at drawing/colouring. The original picture is from Fredart Studios (www.fredart.com). However, I did draw this myself, and coloured it. Was quite pleased with how it turned out, so thought I'd post it 😀 .

I told you how I thought of it earlier today. Absolutely wonderful work! It's too bad you didn't post it here though... It really is something to see!

😀

Since I'm changing my Deviantart account soon and moving to a new one, I'll probably replying on DA. So if that seems odd to you at first, thats why.

Anyways, the improvements in the hair quality are really coming along. There are still some anatomy issues, mainly with hands and limbs, but you've made strides in that area also.

This isn't so much a critique as it is a question, but where are her eyebrows? Or are they intentionally left out? If they are I'd like to hear the reason. LOL

it is gorgeous, as i mentioned before. very well done.

I could tell from the thumbnail that was a Fred Gallagher inspired picture. I really like his work.
You did a great really great job with the style and the color and everything! A bit more detail in the hands and stuff would look even better. Keep it up! You've improved a ton!

I saw the pencil draft of this a few days ago and was very impressed with it then! You've made substancial progress with your style, drawing now the a great deal of confidence! The mood of this picture is quite sedate (almost spiritual, with the clasped hands, dreamy expression and ethereal background). Nice composition... I like the dramatic cant to the posture as the girl leans slightly forward. Shading is soft and subtle, very effectively rounding the features. Nice work on the hands! You've complained of having trouble with hands, but these are quite well done! A cute touch to have the pinky finger separated slightly from the rest; it gives the grasp a delicate quality! I'm looking forward to your next project, LK, and in particular your promised comic! I'm most eager to see what you can do with multiple panels!

So this is what you spent so long colouring last night. 😛 Well it paid off - excellent work! 😀 I especially like the shading in the hair.

Very inspiring 🙂 I've been meaning to learn how to draw for a while.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments 😀 .
Vlad - I dont think there were any eyebrows in the original picture, and to be honest I dont think they were really needed in here. THe picture as a whole sets the expression of the character for me. It's for te same reason that there's no mouth in it. I think it works anyway ^_^ .
Ness - Thank you very muchly 😀 .
LBH - Hehe, thank you for your in depth analysis 😀 . Makes me feel good when somebody takes the time to look at the picture in such detail ^_^ .

LOL y'know I'm new to the whole "manga/anime thing", and one thing I do find very amusing is how the artist will drop entire features to express a certain emotion. It's very effective (and down right hillarious in some cases).

In your case, Kimiko, I found it worked very well. The minimal amount of detail actually adds to the youthfulness of the character, and focuses the attention to the eyes; where the emotion of the character actually lays.

Anyway, I'm no art student; so pardon me if I'm way off...
