My Boyfriend Can't Tickle

I know I'm ticklish, but my boyfriend doesn't know how to make me laugh. He can tickle me very, very lightly, but I can barely feel it. I don't know if it's because of how his fingers are or because he doesn't know how to move them.

I've tickled him, but even though he tries to copy my techniques, he's no good at it.

What should he do with his hands, or what tools should we try? Any advice would be appreciated.

Tell him to add a bit of pressure on his fingertips. One technique is to pretend you're carrying a bar of soap; too tight and it'll slip, too light and it'll slip. Or is it a fingernails issue?
Where fingernails are concerned, less is usually more in terms of pressure; but theres also the issue of speed. If you're going for slow, then more pressure. If you're going for fast, then light pressure.

As awkward as it is, I think Relent is on the right track. You need to be very communicative about what tickles you and what you like. While he's doing it you need to give feedback (if you're not laughing too hard, which is the point). Tell him when to be harder, which spots, etc. Honestly, this is the same communication most couples should have about sex. Get him to experiment: Use fingernails, fingertips, kneading, pinching, poking, rubbing, wriggling... all the adjectives you can think of. He'll probably get in the zone with enough coaching.

I'll third Relent and second Carnivore. Communicate, communicate, communicate. Demonstrate. Watch tons of videos together. Heck, get him to join these forums and we can all have a fun chat. Oh, and in case his hand-strength is an issue; this is what I use to strengthen my fingers for guitar playing (NOT a euphemism for 'tickling' :stickout)

It comes in a variety of gauges, so he can pick the tension he feels is best. I've been using it for almost a year now, and it's worked wonders. It really focuses on the fingers, individually, and also builds control, endurance and dexterity. I got mine off of Amazon.

Tell him to use his tongue. You'll either get tickled, or oral. Both are fun.

I think that communication is key. Either explain or show him how YOU like to be tickled. If you watch tickling videos, you can even watch videos that display the tickling that you like together, that way he can see it first hand. I had the same issue with a gilfriend. Some of us got it, some of us don't. That's one recurrent theme I've heard with some of the models I've hired over the years. You can be patient with the coaching and training, but it seems if someone isn't blessed with it, it may end up not quite working out as you may like.

If he's going too light, he might be afraid he's going to hurt you. My SO (whom I met on this website) had this problem a little when we first met, because he's much bigger than me and I'm rather small and delicate. Communication is really important, like earlier posters said - just tell him what you want. If he still isn't sure, try placing his hands on your body, your fingers over his, and press his fingers against you until it's the amount of pressure that you want. You just have to teach him what works for you. 🙂

maybe tickling a little harder might help? I don't know its hard to help someone know how to tickle someone if there tickling ways aren't working. And he shouldn't mimic you, should find his own style
