Hey I wanted to contribute to this awesome forum, and even though I have yet to find my feet in the drawing/art world I thought I'd showcase some of my art, despite its rough, and unrealistic appearance (over critical? 😛) lemme know what you think, oh and any tips regarding art, sketching, and drawing will be much appreciated 😀

Any simple style can turn into something great if you stick with it! There are many ways to add depth.

Really, depth of design is what pulls people in. Don't be afraid to take chances with your art and don't be too quick to abandon an art style just because you think it is below par.

You've got simple anatomy down, her face is balanced and the colors are strong.

You've got an awesome base to work from.

the thing is I have yet to find a style to develop, I have done some more sketches and the eyes, shape and construction are different :S I want to experiment and because I love the content on this site thought I'd give it a go, thanks for the words of wisdom and I hope I can get more involved 😀

YouKnowsIt, look toward 80s cartoons like Real Ghostbusters, Disney movies, et cetera. The styles are fairly simple to master and look really, really good. Plus, then you won't be YAAA - Yet Another Anime Artist! Nothing against you guys, but there's too many of you doing the same bloody thing 🙂

Without sounding too overly critical...
Not so much into the *SNIFFING* aspect of it. I do notice though that in your pic you said she was tickled. any chance of a prequel or a sequel, wherein the socks come off? I feel we need some closure. ^^

(But yeah, good job so far, and welcome to the fold! )

Nothing quite beats sock tickling 😉
Maybe look at making the feet/soles look more shapely - even in socks little details can be added such as the shape of the toes and arches etc! and my fav. is wrinkles in the socks where they are not quite pulled up tight enough (lol)
As for face & body keeping it simple helps to produce better art - maybe again small details like eye lashes will make the character look cute and more feminine.

Well thanks to modern technology, using my digital camera I have managed to get some more of my art onto my computer, I drew these before your comments so its kinda the same rough style, amd working to try and develop these works into something much better, wellhere goes nothing 😛

why do you belittle your art and your skills? If you are unsatisfied with results make it better, but know this. Every contribution here is welcome, no matter how good it is. You may get criticized, but most of those people would never dare to put their own extension as an artist here, so be proud with whatever you give... I must recommend a change of thread name... respect your art 🙂

Yes I agree, You must respect your own work. There are losers out there ready to jump on anyone who makes themselves vulnerable. In posting work that you're not confident with you're showing that you've got the guts to get out there.
