To the moderators of this fine forum:

I had posted a reply to bass' "Musical Question" thread, as a new thread, instead of a reply, in error.

I returned to the post and attempted to delete it, only to learn that server is not honoring the "Delete" function for My user object.

This post is one last attempt at a successful deletion. In the likely event that this post remains in the forum, would the attending moderator please delete the thread I created in error titled "Congrats," or e-mail me to let me know that my "post deletion priveledges" have been reinstated in order that I may delete it myself next login?

Thank you,

GuitarPeteTklr

GuitarPeteTklr, your 'Congrats' post has been deleted as requested.

I'm still not sure what the problem with self-deletion of your own posting is. We'll check that and get back to you soon.

I seem to recall...

Myr mentioning something in another thread about being able to delete reply posts, but NOT posts that start new threads. If I'm remembering correctly, that should be the situation and no real problem exists...other than a thread being present that you didn't intend to start. Oh well.

Thank You, For Your Continued Attention...

First of all, thank you to Haltickling, for honoring My request to delete the thread I created in error. I appreciate and and thank you, in advance, for your continued follow-up on this issue concerning thread deletion rights by a "thread owner."

Secondly, thank you to Ann (Part 1 of TicklingDuo), for bringing to My attention that Myriads has posted some guidance somewhere in the forum archives that may answer My question. My diligent search for that continues.

In closing, I would just like to say that I was able to post a reply to my own "thread initializing" post here, have successfully deleted it, and offer this reply in response to that exercise.:wow: 😱 😀

myriads mentioned something about not being to delete a thread starting post in the tickle discussions part of the forum under the "is the tickle palace gone" thread to answer a question. that may be the one Ann was talking about. i've noticed a few things being switched around lately..for a while i could'nt edit my posts after a 24 hour period...now i can....and i think you used to be able to delete the thread starter before but i guess now you can't. maybe all the deleting and editing was playing havoc with the forum and they are trying to curb that, like with the im's and search funtions. either way no big deal to me. hope this helps.

Thankful to Prime And, Ergo, Myriads...Wanting To Put "Spell Check" In Forum

Prime, thank you for posting the exact thread the deletion guidance came from. I had to re-read it a couple of times and use context analysis with an afterthought of correct spelling on the word "exception" (spelled in error by our beloved Myriads, would you believe?). 😱 Don't mean to step into the role of "spelling Nazi" here, Myriads, but I somehow thought you meant "expectation." Silly Me! 😱 As if I never misspell any thing here? NOT!!! 😱

Users can delete thier own posts with the expection of when those posts start a thread. I assume he had his own reasons for removing it.

Anyhow, Mea Culpa, on the misinterpretation of the guidance offered in the Is Tickle Palace Gone?? thread as Myriads so eloquently wrote some eleven posts down in that thread. Now, I better understand the protocol associated with forum security set and feel much more edified.

Thank you again, most of all to Myriads, for all the guidance offered in helping Me solve this conundrum.

Thanks, Prime. That IS the thread I was thinking of, but couldn't recall which at the time. Glad you got that solved, Pete. 😉
