A NYC duo headed by Lizzy Plapinger, who has a fondness for different hair colors, have been slowly gaining ground in the past year with a retro-sound that I quite enjoy. They lift a lot of the structures 80's music used, and apply them to a modern style to very good result. Well worth seeing live, they alway provide a great show.

A friend of mine introduced me to their music a few years ago and their chorus-and-hook-writing skills won me over despite being an ardent ANTI-indie rock guy. But this new faux-80s masterpiece album Heartthrob is practically the ultimate earworm monument and this unspeakably catchy beat has kept me hitting repeat for hours straight. I haven't done that since "Hate to Say I Told You So" almost 10 years ago. This "vintage" novelty video REALLY isn't helping to stop my addiction.

Months ago I got back into Floyd after burning myself out on them in '04 and thankfully, it's still going strong. I've been watching the magnificent "Live from Pompeii" concert more than any other Floyd-related material and this live version of "Echoes" is currently my favorite song of the non-Dark Side of the Moon catalog; more so than the studio version. Much like the previous song, I can't bring myself to stop listening.

I found this recently (although I saw it long ago) but this live version of both songs accentuates different sounds than the studio versions and has got my ear by the lobe.

I never got into the surrealistic humorists of rock like Zappa and his contemporaries, and Ween isn't much of an exception, but I've found myself returning to this track repeatedly lately because it has a pop sensibility with its repetition and catchy riff. Maybe one day I'll get into Ween hardcore, but for now, this and "Ocean Man" remains the only tracks I can listen to, and them quite frequently.

Man, I fuckin' MISS THE SHIT out of New Jack Swing. It needs to come back.

Watched Thunderbolt and Lightfoot the other day and now this song has been stuck in my head on repeat. The lyrics hit more than a little close to home, which kinda makes it even more listenable.
