My wanderings brought me to this, full of ironic lyrics (MTV signed on August 1st 1981, 30 years soon...) and it has Zombies. Enjoy.

I found this when I was looking up the Buggles reunion for the Prince's Trust Concert (check it out, the performance of the original is spot-on). This is definitely a song whose update is well-placed.

God, remember when MTV played videos instead of programming for 16-year-old *****s?

I'm pimpin' this music video again. Because its awesome.

I liked this song alot and so I looked up the band. I've actually been in touch with the lead vocalist on Facebook about their upcoming projects. I'm excited. He also reccomended a cool book for me to read.

here’s a little bit about the video.... It started with an iChat conversation... “hey dude, we should make a video for Internet Killed the Video Star, I’m thinking something with zombies.” A few minutes later the plot was written and we were on a mission to collect as many paper towel and toilet paper rolls as we could - some glue and some scissors later we had an arsenal of imagination powered glitter blasting confetti weapons ready for battle. We found a hippie girl in Santa Cruz who sold us a shitty old station wagon for about 600 bucks. We called our friend and director David Dutton and told him we were gonna make an epic kids vs. zombies music video, he brought the special effects power to make it all possible and he believed in the project so strongly that he donated his time and effort, which allowed us to make a video for less cash than what most bands spend on catering at a video shoot. All of the zombies and the kids are friends and family of the band, even the location of the shoot was a generous donation from a pal. We shot it all in a day and a half in Los Gatos, CA and we’re so proud of how it turned out. Total cost of the video after we sold the car on ebay? $350 (zombie makeup and pizza) and it’s been played on MTV! Crazy.

I missed your addition to the post Tropic. Thanks for posting it, and I'm glad that you have become fans of the band due to my posting the video here. Very cool that you have been in touch.

Their other music rocks too.

I missed this the first time around, so I'm glad it got some bumpin' love. This is one of the best videos I've seen, ever. Can't decide if they paid homage to the Buggle's original work, or ripped it off. Loved this either way, just more respect for them if it was done with respect and permission.

Plus the busty stripper zombies were a bonus.
