I've started this thread because I have been watching the History Channel and have enjoyed some of their programs on the unexplained, such as the prophecies of Nostradamus,UFO's,Cryptozoology, etc, etc!I want to find others who also share in this interest,as well as skeptics, too, who wish to debate such topics!

I'll start things off with something I saw on MysteryQuest:the reports that Hitler didn't die in his bunker with Eva Braun as reported by the Russians, but had somehow escaped, and that skull fragments found where he was said to have been burned after he killed himself didn't belong to him!

So,did Hitler escape?Yes,or No?

Let the debate begin.....

I saw that one and was definitely intrigued

Unless he hid his identity so well with other Confidantes in South America, I think it would be impossible for him to go un-noticed there till his eventual death plus during that time when he died, Russia was a very "information control" nation

Hell, theres one theory that the only reason the US got involved when they did with Germany and not fully with the USA was to stop Russia from pushing communism to potentially France

I do think he took his life and was burned so that no part of him could be used as a memento of defeat. Hitler was of poor health before he died so as i stated above, it would be amazingly difficult to hide someone of his health and stature in South America, despite how many sympathizers were present

I didn't see the Hitler show but given what is known about his physical and mental condition at the time, as well as the fact that the Russian Army was pretty much in total control of Berlin, an escape seems highly unlikely.

As far as Nostradamus goes, if i see one more show about that on the History Channel i am going to toss my TV in the dumpster. Google James Randi and read what he had to say on the subject. He has spend much of his life debunking that sort of nonsense.

Adolf Hitler was one of the best leaders and military strategists the world has seen. He managed to do what had not been done since the Romans. For Hitler to not have an exit strategy for when it all went wrong does not tie in to his history.
Im still of the belief he murdered Braun and a fake to cause diversion for his escape into the Africas and Southern Americas. That for me fits with the mind set of the man.

Dudes, the guy was batshit crazy (Stalin was worse, and Churchill wasn't far behind, but he was still batshit crazy) and thought he had fate on his side. He thought he could still win when the Russians were bombing the shit out of Berlin. Some nazi's might have escaped to Argentina, but Hitler didn't. They got him good! 🙂

And no he was NOT one of the worlds greatest military strategists. He only succeeded because he listened to his generals (plus he had a shitload of luck) but then he got reckless, STOPPED listening to his generals, and that's when it was all over. Don't give the guy too much credit. He did some good stuff for Germany before the war, but as a military strategist he was both paranoid and incompetent. Germany had I don't know HOW many divisions stationed in Norway, but he didn't call them back home because he didn't want to withdraw from occupied land unless forced to, or at least I *think* that was the way he reasoned.

Tl;Dr: He wasn't sane enough to have staged an escape like that.

Here's an interesting thought....

What if Hitler did escape and fled to Argentina?Would he become a Nazi version of Osama Bin Laden, plotting terrorist attacks against the Allies, especially the Russians?Would he somehow have started World War III?

Just a thought....

Hitler's idea was world domination and ridding the world of the Jews. Osama's ideals don't revolve around conquering nations.

Majority of the German Military and even the people were not Nazi's, even tho they were forced to take the Hitler Oath. Most of the military was fighting for their country and the land they held/wanted not for Nazi ideals, that was left for the SS. So Hitler in another country surrounded by some of his supporters would solidify him in hiding but he would be nowhere near garnering support for any action on anyone.

This. Hitler made one military blunder after another, and the longer the war lasted the worse it became. Even after Normandy he remained convinced that it was a diversion and that the real invasion would come at Pas-de-Calais, and refused to reinforce the army in Normandy.

Recently, according to the Associated Press, the pieces of skull examined in Mysteryquest did not belong to Hitler at all,so the History Channel was right on the money there!Who the pieces belong to(Eva Braun, although she did "poison"herself?)still remains a mystery!!
