need a mpg codec? any recommendations?

for some reason,my mpeg files seem to be running in slow motion, ending the clip way before its suppose to. do i need a new codec? thx

Are you using the latest version of Windows Media Player or Real Player? Also, clips running in slow-motion can be caused by faulty (outdated) audio or video drivers; you should check to see if there are any driver updates available.

I've also seen slow mo from using film cleaning effects on various programs, it really could depend on what your using to edit it.

I would highly reccomend VLC player, as for me it seems to play anything ever!
