Hmmm....well, there is the K-Lite Codec Pack. It includes stipped-down, ad/spyware free versions of Quicktime and Realplayer, as well as nearly every codec you can imagine (Be warned: When installing, be sure to choose "Custom" (If that is an option) and deselect the Windows Media Player codec if you are running Windows Media Player 10, or WMP will complain when playing any files after that). If that can't play it, you are in trouble.
