Working two jobs and I'm still no closer to where I want to be...out of my mom's house. Bankruptcy is not an option, but I can't go on like this.

I'm starting to get really deep in despair and fixing to jump in my car and just fucking leave everything.

Find a friend who's looking for a roomie and move in. Ask your boss for a raise and/or promotion. Marry a rich widow. Give art lessons. Consolidate your debts as much as you can and pay off the ones with the highest interest first. Search for bargains; haggle and barter; spend less.

You're 45?!?!?!? Wow. By the tone of your post, I would have guessed 18.

For starters, stop crying about your situation. There are many more with situations much worse than your cryfest. Plenty of people would love one of the two jobs you have, and plenty of them would love to have a place to stay at least.

What is driving you so crazy about your situation now that you're considering doing something as rash and stupid as going to "fucking leave everything" with no plan whatsoever? Is there appeal in being homeless and without a job (or money) instead of being where you are now? Act a little more rational about your situation.

With a mindset and attitude like yours, I'm sure it's contributed to your current predicament at least somewhat in your life.

Everything is about money. You need more of it. Aside from that, at least in the meantime, grow up (and act your age) and deal with whatever problems you have with where you are right now, because I doubt you're leaving anytime soon. You need to survive while you're working and planning to move out. That's not to discourage you, but you need to come up with a plan instead of acting like an emo teenager. Write it down and be specific with targeted goals in mind with what it's going to take for you to leave.

At the same time, do you know Mitchell? I think you two might get along well with similar experiences. Maybe send him a PM and ask for advice.

From now on, I will keep my problems to myself. I apologize for the melt.

Step 1: Realize that telling people 'I need serious financial help' with 0 detail is going to get you as much useful information as saying 'My wife sucks, how do I fix my marriage'

Step 2: Don't ask the internet for advice on anything that's actually important.

Step 3: Profit!

Going back to school in a field that is in demand is the only thing I can think of. I used to work at a grocery store as a teen and would get tuition money if I worked x number of hours if school loan money isn't available. At 45 you're likely too old for the military although I wouldn't overlook Army guard or something similar. Either way to get out of your situation you must make drastic and sometimes painful changes to move forward....sometimes you might even have to step backward in order to put yourself in a position to move forward. I know you're a talented artist and you'd love to get paid for what you do...but what ends of happening sometimes is that those individuals end up having to work a shit job just so they can pay the bills. I think it's better to have a job/career that you're luke warm about and can enjoy life with than to work in my favorite field and have to work my ass off as a clerk at a grocery store just to feed myself with no hope for the future.

But that's me

Depending on how inconvenient it would be, but getting rid or selling your car will at least help alleviate your expenses. Seriously. I am not trying to be harsh on you.

How about really researching your artwork, researching ideas, photography, history, and creating a good 3D art tickle book.

Sell it.

Offer it on here, then Ebay, Amazon.com, Images4sale, etc. Go to websites away from here, like all the various pantyhose/nylon, big breasts, etc. ones, and offer it to those people as well.

There are thousands of ideas that many video producers and art makers have never done yet.

Personally I'd rather see you melt than to hold it in; not good for you.

I know you've bumped into a lot of closed doors, but mabus made some pretty good suggestions. You have good work; you just have to get it out there in the most cost efficient manner possible.

I'm not saying it's easy, but you must keep trying. What other skills do you have that can translate to better job opportunities? Can you afford to move to another area that might have better job opps? Have you put together a short-long term plan for yourself? Sometimes getting it in writing and placing it somewhere you can see it regularly helps.

I wanna offer suggestions, though I fear sounding like a Robert Kiyosaki commercial.

First, I know having two jobs can be a ball-breaker. I don't know how much free-time that affords you, but if you have any, try learning to wholesale houses. Wholesaling a house is a quick way to make about a $3000 minimum (for a first-time wholesaler.) from an assignment fee to an investor.

Aside from that, I suggest you set aside some cash each pay period and invest it in some 1 oz. silver bullion pieces. They should be priced much higher than they are, so now's a good time to get them. Plus, they'll hold value better than our crappy dollar, which shrinks in value by the day.

If you wanna know more about either of these things, pm me, and I'll elaborate a little more when I have a chance. This way,I also won't be spamming this thread with my financial mumbo jumbo. 😛

Drew & I are in a situation that's not ideal as well. After selling our house and relocating to live with my dad (and help him out), the only job Drew's beena ble to find so far is at one of the local grocery stores. He's still looking. But, in the meantime, he's working full time for 1/4 of what he was making before. My health doesn't seem to have any intention of cooperating enough to get a job outside the house in order to help financially. So, I'm in the process of preparing to start my own "business" with something I can do right here. It's not ideal...esp. since my income would be hit and miss at first. But, every little bit helps.

Grab at anything and everything you can reasonably do to help yourself. Feel stuck in your present job? Be glad you at least have one in this economy! Spend as much time as possible looking elsewhere on your off hours. Make enough of a pain of yourself showing up constantly to ask for a job and you might just get their attention. I'm sure the running away comment was just blowing off steam. That's a good thing. It would only land you in worse shape.

Hang in there!

I already have 5 comic books available for sale at Renderotica. But I have been more successful selling Poser products like poses, which was the bulk of my sales last month. With some time and toil, I can turn it into a living.

I am about to turn the corner, and use my education in building my Poser enterprise in Renderotica and Renderosity, plus do commissioned work. This is all I have that is ready to sail now.
