Need some help with artwork

I just got a new scanner, and I really want to post some artwork in TT, but I´d like to color it first, thing is I know nothing about colouring so I was wondering if someone here can help me out with that... I´d like to color it on paper, I´m not a big fan of digital coloring. So which would you say is the best way to color artwork, I´d like to give it a comicbook kind of look, but I have no idea of which tools I would need for that, I´d really appreciate any help anyone can give me 😀 😀 😀

I'm a big fan of colored pencils (see example below), which are inexpensive and come in a wide variety of colors. A light touch can yield a pastel feel, while vigorous application may supply the full, bold effect you seem to be looking for. The colors blend and overlay well. I recommend, however, that you do your colorwork on a photocopy rather than your original linework (dependiing on the size of the original, of course). This will provide you more than one chance if you're not pleased with the results.

I´m giving a shot at every coloring technique I can think of, hopefully I´ll have something ready soon. Thank you for the reply LBH, I´ll be sure to try the good old fashioned colored pencils 🙂

 

[Snail Shell]

Coloured pencils are my implement of choice too. Easy to shade. Easy to afford. Lots of colours. I have a good set of markers too which tend to be faster, but are harder to shade and impossible to undo mistakes if you make them.
