I want to preface this by saying if I haven't mentioned you directly it doesn't mean I didn't have fun hanging out with you. I am mentioning people that I hung out and or got to know really well. In addition I am getting older (not Venray old) so I may have forgotten your screen name and/or forgot to mention you entirely.
LeeAllure: For being a good host and coming to chat with me several times (i.e. "come walk with me). I want to thank you for that chat in the lobby Saturday night. It was good to talk to you. I am also amused how we soon became the "seed group" as the couches filled with people chatting on various topics. You are hot, smart, and have a good heart (I know, I saw the jar in your room).
Snail Shell for being fun and cool. Snail is a smart ass instigator many times on the forum (and at NEST), but he is a warm and friendly. I saw first hand how he talks to new people (NEST or any gathering) and help the person with his or her anxieties, give level headed advice, and be be receptive and listening. I can honestly say that my NEST experience was greatly enhanced by having him around. For the record Snail I am very serious about the artwork stuff we talked about. In addition I have been working on a card game for 2 years and am currently in playtest. I would like to get your opinion sometime for doing art for it. That would definitely be a paid gig.
Impaler09 is a riot. I don't know how many times I tapped his forehead or joked around with him. He is as handsome as he is friendly and with a smile on his face even if the women aren't digging their fingers into him. I am fortunate to have spent so much time with him.
Rob Ace is a blast - tacos, burritos, and mole sauce amigo! I'm glad to have met you in person and was able to play/watch Rockband 2 in your hotel room. I still say something was up with that guitar, I don't suck THAT badly on easy. Your sombrero precedes you wherever you go. The chance to watch Tortuga loose her voice doing Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld... "TIMMY!" is priceless. One person in the room said (paraphrased) "This made my whole NEST, I could go home right now and be happy I was here."
Asutickler - aka Rhino - is the man. I've known him for years and he is a giant of awesomeness. I hope we can hang out more next year. "Um... Soap?"
Alchemy, what can I say, you are a geek among freaks. I had a good time hanging out and chatting with you. That #24 Venture Brothers costume is fraking awesome! I was so glad I could "Squee" with Bella as two Venture Bros fans fawned over your geek cred.
Bella is someone I have missed. I haven't seen her in years. I am so glad your life is going well. I was very touched when you said "I trust you Bagel" when I gave you that hug and you knew I would keep my word.
Gothicfreakhell and saerias were two people I got to know Friday. They were hungry, their fridge was broken, and there were ducks circling ouside... "Quack!" Their room was one of the conference hotel rooms with a large table, chairs and a white board. Saerias drew a picture of us and our master porn...er plan. I'm sorry that we didn't get to do the "Evil League of Evil" picture I wanted. If we get this hotel next year we'll find someone with that room and do it. You two are the most awesome freaks I know even if one of you would hold up the airport screening line by 15 minutes.
Jpie called me her fellow matzoball. I'm glad to have met you. You are a great person. Thanks for letting me hang out with you and play with you over..and over... and did I mention over again? If you weren't married with kids and I wasn't 2500 miles away with a girlfriend I'd snatch you right up.
Classy met me 3 years ago in Michigan, too long between seeing her again, my friendly squirrel lady. I'm happy that you remembered me from your first gathering in Michigan and that you were there to share the laughter with me this year.
Karategirl and ... yeah I'm bad with names I forgot your name (see previous warning). I had so much fun with you two. I'm glad that you said yes when I asked "may I." Your attitude is too cool for school. I love how you swear like Bellystrokes and added the additional swear words at my suggestion (smirk). It was so much fun having someone curse you out and when it was over say "That was fucking awesome!" I'm happy that you met your man, in the chat room of all places. He's a great guy and it was touching seeing how much you two cared about each other. I hope there is a long future for both of you.
Amnesiac - aka Superman is a NEST funny guy and shutterbug. He has an eye for details and it shows in his attitude and determination. No one else would have the chutzpah to borrow a shirt from a Rhino, make a little cape, rush into the newbie orientation with the lisping conviction to call Libertine Lex Luthor. If Amnesiac had red underpants to wear I am sure he would have worn them on the outside. Thanks for your hard work documenting this event, the courage to do standup at the talent show, and having time to chat with me.
Libertine and Kittentoes - No one has the flare for drama that you do. Shylock's monologue never struck home as hard or as repeatedly as any other time I have heard it. Your command of costumes, style, power, and grace gives us all something to enjoy and aspire to.
Venray, Light, and crew need no introduction. I had never met Venray in person, but he greet3ed me as though I had known him for years. He helped make me feel like I belong and reminded me that although this is my first NEST I am a veteran of the community. You and your posse of giggling terror are welcome in my home anytime you want to make it out to California. I hope you can make it out here and visit someday.
Kered is the gentleman's gentleman. He is the fatherly figure who quietly observes all and gently watches over the young women in the community doing little things for them and the rest of us. He may remember I joked about his white jacket with red stripes belonging to the 6 million dollar man, but he is a millionaire just not in cybernetics or cash. Thanks for hanging with me.
Ticklishious is someone I met when I was looking for roommates. At first I was nervous about rooming with him (having not known much about him), but now I am glad I said yes. He had a hard road to get to NEST with obstacles always in the way. I am hoping that I don't need a roommate next year, but if I do I would want it to be him or a hot kinky female model who plays dungeons and dragons.
Ticklish9's - I'm glad that I got to hang out with you and that the random decision to bring the ribbon to hold my badge came in more handy as a leash for you. I am glad that I got to meet you and hang out with you for a bit. I have a friend who works in chainmail. When I can get a picture from her of one of her chainmail leashes I will let you know. They go for around $60 and I think it would be perfect for you. It is good to see that the younger generation is okay with hanging out with more venerable people (i.e. significantly older).
Tortuga - I am glad to have met you. I'm still figuring out a way to bring my violet wand next year (my gf loves it). I have figured out a way to tickle her with it among other things... (dramatic music here). After all these years it is great to meet you.
Tamia78 I am so happy to have met you finally after all these years. Thank you btw for the happy birthday message, it meant a lot to me.
Other notes...
Skippy - Congrats on your degree!
EcEu - Comic Con 2009 dude! Woot!
Dimpletoes - nice to meet you after chatting with you on the video all those times.
There are more that I don't jump to mind right now or whose screen names I have forgotten relative to the faces. You know who you are and I look forward to seeing you.
Next year in Jerusalem!
